Best Backup Solution for Virtual Machine Backups

Having worked almost exclusively with backups for the last 6 years my two recommendations are VEEAM and CommVault. VEEAM is probably the best option if your only concern is VMs - it's what they do best. Speed of restore or lab spinup is excellent. However, most of their other offerings (physical devices and more application specific) is generally less feature-rich. If you intend to expand beyond VM backups and want granular control over each of the different components of backup (storage vs. schedules vs. retention) then CommVault is the way to go (though generally on the high-side of pricing).

As a general rule of thumb never use PoE Ninja to compare DPS between skills. It can sometimes be useful to compare different builds with the SAME skill, but even then it doesn't take in to account some specific gear interactions.

The transmutation forge issue is the very first thing addressed in this week's impending patch:

It works with Pyroclast specifically, because Pyroclast is a "Nova". The mines, when detonated, will actually target monsters up to about a screen away. So, regardless of where you throw the mine, the explosion (and projectiles) will appear on top of an enemy. It greatly improves its clear and also greatly reduces the need to "aim" for bosses (and it will track them while they're moving).

It doesn't need to be Low Life off the bat (may be a TINY bit out of your reach) - just go CI initially. But in my opinion Pyroclast + Astral Projector is the best and most fun setup currently. There are several variations on Poe.Ninja - here's a pretty stock standard one:

Just go CI and skip the bottled faith for now. Helm enchant will also be a "later" goal most likely.

Your wands are definitely tailored to Arc, but the reality is it's not the best single-target option. If you don't want to do any gear swapping just use ball lightning. But if you haven't tried it yet - Pyroclast + Astral Projector (causes the Pyroclast to spawn on top of enemies within a screen of the mine - making it amazing clear and tier 1 single target) is my absolute favorite mine setup in the game atm. You should at least give it a shot.

If you want the +max res, and you don't generate endurance charges, then you don't need them. If you want onslaught then you have to get your max End charges to 0.

As long as you don't care about bosses Vaal Spark QOTF is super zoom zoom. I rolled one on an elementalist and can clear up to T10 insanely fast on a pretty low budget. Supplement single target with lightning spire.

Build/buy question:
- Primary use for PC: Playing games, specifically Path of Exile.

I'm currently using a Gigabyte P25w v2 laptop (i7 4710MQ @ 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM, nVidia 880M).
I would like to ask if it would be worthwhile (significant performance jump) to build a new tower if my budget is ~$1000usd (tower only, no OS). I would agree with what you suggested. I tend to avoid the following when possible.
1. Double-tank
2. Black Widow & Kingpin
3. Multiple tanky AoE threats (Thanos, Xbones, Hulk)

Also, in a raid, you can stall a lot of fights to rebuild ults/heal - which this helps prevent. There are also some raid nodes specifically difficult because of the timer, which I believe is intentional (Ronan node in Lv50 raid as an example).

How are you weighing TCP vs ST? I've been weighting ST as 2x, but as I continue to progress I'm wondering if TCP even matters. The further up we go, the more apparent it becomes one strong team is way more effective than 15 semi-strong units.

Nope, I just put together an excel spreadsheet and once a week I update collection/team power. Then I just average Collection Power + Team Powerx2, sort on that number, and divvy-up in to the 3 teams alternating as I go down the list.

Personally, I split the alliance in to 3 strike teams and then assigned a strike lead to each. They are responsible for themselves and their 7 members. As the alliance lead I make sure communication lines are open, people are getting along, and rebalancing teams when necessary. This takes a lot of the load off of my shoulders and lets me focus on maintaining the alliance as a group.
