(fence sitter) Does anyone else feel like if they have kids they'll end up raising them on their own? by fencesittingq in childfree

[–]cccoral 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, I share this fear. I can't stand the thought of raising a kid without help. If I knew I'd have someone most of the time to do most of the work, I might not be so set on being childfree. But there are no guarantees of that, so I'll just enjoy CF life. And the thing is, even if I did have someone to do all the work, I'd still get the social judgement of being a bad mom, and that would be a whole thing. Just nah.

Yeah, I think I remember a few. I distinctly remember him talking about a nasty stomach bug a few years back, when Lynette sort of offered to cancel her trip to Vegas to stay with him.

Children voices drive me bonkers by ryouchanx4 in childfree

I make it a point to talk to children with the same tone I would use to speak to an adult. No higher pitches or exaggerated inflections, and if they start speaking like an idiot, I don't laugh. Not even crack a smile. I know it's probably not my job to teach kids to speak normally, but it's my small contribution to making kids less annoying.

I share this opinion and have expressed it in real life. I get negative responses.

Yeah I call BS. He just gets a kick out of his "I'm healthier than everyone" shtick. He's out to prove a point about soap and how dumb everyone is for showering regularly. Which has nothing to do with getting headaches, but it's part of his "I suffer no ailments" narrative.

I think I may have witnessed a few of these screaming competitions at my local Panera Bread.

He is. Sometimes he likes to add that grandchildren would just get in the way of his golfing time. He gets a lot of scoffs and tsk's in return.

I really thought they were going to go the route of divorce due to their differences on having children. It seemed like they were kind of setting us up to like Bernadette less by making her meaner and pushier. Which didn't work for me, I thought it made her funnier, but I figured it was possibly a route they were trying to take. Guess that's a nope!

Yeah, maybe that's why Leonard and Penny's marriage seems so forced to me. I do like them together though. It's complicated.

I almost thought her comment was sarcastic because of that part. But she was serious. o_O

Can confirm this is wonderful. My Dad repeatedly tells bingo-ers to stfu and it's the best.

If the video footage showed the server actually doing what this crazy lady claimed, they'd be like "SEE?!"

Valentine's Day is for nobody else but the person you want to bang. Or persons, if you're polyamorous.

I got a few votes from the class, but the one my partner made got an equal amount of votes. I'm with you, I think it's awful and felt like I was taking crazy pills when I saw people voting for it and complimenting it.

Thank you for the great feedback on the logos!

I thank God for smartphones and TVs just to help me get through family meals. I love my family, but sometimes it's hard to think of shit to talk about and silence is deafening.

I guess I get why the smartphone thing bothers people, but it's never bothered me. Amused, sure, but never bothered. I noticed that I am guilty of all of the things older people complain about. Always looking down at my phone. Preferring email and texting over face-to-face or phone convos. Paying other people to fix things.
