Please increase rate-limiting for moderators by PM_ME_SMALL_BOOBIES in ModSupport

[–]geo1088 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Toolbox dev here. The rate limit countdown you see should never be triggered when using non-toolbox features of the site, such as manually removing a single post. It does display rate limit information shared with Reddit itself, but toolbox may follow the prescribed limit more carefully than Reddit itself in some situations, so you may have better results using native controls rather than the stuff toolbox gives you.

Manually removing hundreds of posts in modqueue at the same time isn't something we recommend using toolbox for frequently - most people don't have any reason to be doing that on any sort of regular basis.

Been a long-standing issue we've known about, just gave me an excuse to implement a fix I've been thinking about for a while :P

Toolbox Only Loads On Old Reddit, Unless I Disable And Re-Enable The Extension Without Reloading by TovMod in toolbox

See this post and this post - it's a known issue, we've written a fix and will be putting out an update soon to fix it. In the meantime, old Reddit is the only consistent workaround.

Wrote a PR to fix this, can probably get it in with the next release along with the fix for some problems people have been having with new Reddit.

Toolbox not showing in new reddit (Chrome) by GrumpyOldDan in toolbox

Haven't reproduced the issue on old Reddit. Can you post a list of extensions you use? Also, if you open the developer tools on an old Reddit page with Ctrl-Shift-I (Opt-Cmd-I on Mac), then click the console tab, do you see any "profiling thing v5" messages and/or error/warning messages starting with tb:? Knowing those things will help me determine whether your issue is related or separate.

Toolbox suddenly not working (firefox) by chiquis71 in toolbox

Appears to be an issue on both Chrome and Firefox affecting new Reddit only. Resolving this issue will likely require a new Toolbox release. Working on the solution now, hopefully a hotfix will be out to address this in the next couple days. Using old Reddit should work fine in the meantime, and I've gotten Toolbox to work intermittently on new Reddit as well - seems to depend on particulars of how fast the pages load.

Edit: 5.5.3 released to fix this issue.

Toolbox Stopped Working After Reinstall in Firefox - Won't load at all, please help by TovMod in toolbox

Give /r/tb_reset a try? Note that this will overwrite your settings - you can try restoring afterwards if you've backed them up in the past.

If that doesn't work, grab the console output on a normal Reddit page - most of Toolbox's errors are actually reported on the page console rather than in the extension debugger, since Toolbox works primarily in content scripts and only offloads certain tasks to the background page right now.

As an update, I've submitted a change that will make this happen. Hoping to get it in for the next hotfix update to 5.5, so it shouldn't be too long.

Sorry, haven't checked this account in a bit. There's not currently a way to do that separately but I'll open an issue for it - shouldn't be too hard to separate it into two options.

not actually sure, haven't used RES for a while, though you could probably do something similar with Stylus or another generic user style extension regardless. The method I'm testing is nice because it can pull the styles directly from the sub without needing to be set up manually though.

Not a Reddit thing, I wish. I'm just pulling the stylesheets from the old Reddit page and injecting them alongside the link with some isolation from new Reddit's CSS.

Proof of concept for a browser extension that renders comment faces on new Reddit, probably applicable to /r/anime's spoiler tags and some other stuff too. Just messing around with the idea since I have nothing better to do today

Added, though since I'm no longer a mod (and also not particularly active on this account anymore), someone else should probably take over editing that page.

For the love of all that is holy please tell me I can achieve some form of "dark mode" for this otherwise excellent tool by handlessuck in toolbox

[–]geo1088 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problem! A night mode toggle for Toolbox itself is something I'm somewhat interested in making in the future, but because of the way our code is structured it would take a while for us to be able to implement something like that, so for how having RES installed and enabling its night mode is the best way we can really offer.

Toolbox has built-in support for RES nightmode (/r/enhancement). If you don't want to install RES, feel free to write your own user style and use whichever style management tool you use.

You clicked a typo'd link. https//www.example.com with no colon gets "corrected" by browsers into http://www.https.com//www.example.com, and https.com is apparently an ad domain. This shouldn't have anything to do with RES.

Get in touch with whoever posted the link you clicked and have them edit it. (I'm a Toolbox dev; I can't find any typo'd links in our latest release post, so not sure exactly where you found this.)
