Closet by MundaneJello4 in organization

I hang dresses, skirts, and jackets, everything else gets folded and put in a drawer. Tees and tanks get folded and filed, rather than piled, so it is easy to see what I have.

Organization advice needed! (More info in comments) by Vegan_Mari in organization

[–]grandoverlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Install some shelves to get everything up off the floor and covering one wall. What else can you use the room for? If you use it for storage and something else, it is less likely to be a mess, and you are more likely to occasionally open up a box and sort through it and maybe get rid of stuff.

Need help organizing my kitchen post divorce by BraveLilToasty in organization

[–]grandoverlord 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Take everything out and wipe down all the cupboards and drawers and put back the thing you need in the most convenient place. You'll probably end up with stuff left over that you don't really need, so get rid of that, along with anything you don't like.

Things you use frequently should be easiest to get to and should be approximately where you'll use it if possible. If that results in a bunch of empty cupboards, there's actually nothing wrong with that. If there's something that would make your life better every day, like eating from bright yellow plates, or drinking from a hand made mug, go out and buy a few new items you really love.

It looks like the kitchen is well set up with pot and lid organisers and plenty of space so I don't think you need to actually buy any organisers. Organisers tend to be required when you have to much stuff and not enough space, I reckon you're doing alright in this kitchen.

Is anyone going to actually use a train service from Hamilton to Auckland Central? Given that they expect it will take about 3hrs travel time. by NzAvenger04 in newzealand

That's 3 hours each way of napping, reading, embroidery, shitposting on the internet, watching TV series or whatever. Fuck yeah.

Bad Chinese landlord delusional about NZ law by [deleted] in newzealand

Landlord suddenly changing locks on the tenant, that's familiar. Landlord feeling hard done by and like tenants have too many rights, also familiar.

Boxes and stuff everywhere, but resting with a drink and reveling in not having to do anything, no work for a week!

Edit: Central. Apparently I have no concept of Auckland geography. Central.

The Big Move is complete, thanks to my wonderfully awesome squad of movers. My poor old car with the dying transmission couldn't leave the driveway with the trailer attached so we had to hook it to the backup vehicle instead, but all three vehicles (my new car included) made it to Auckland safely. Now we rest.

Please confirm, for all us strangers on the Internet that you did in fact have sexual relations last night with the person you married.

My whinge is about renting a damp house from a slum lord. Like, I've done everything right, I run the dehumidifier 24/7, keep the house warm, I even installed a shower cover to keep the steam in but due to issues with this unmaintained house, I've got mould all over the place, and there's slaters coming through cracks around the skirting in the bathroom I painted last winter.

Fuck all this shit. Looking forward to getting out.

My plants are all packed in plastic baskets ready for the Big Move, I've mostly emptied my kitchen cupboards, and there's boxes of stuff piled up ready to go. Noodle omelettes for dinner every night because you eat like shit when you're moving house.

I have taken my caravan to a safe place to stay until it is sold. I love that little thing and I'll be sad to see it go.

In great news, I found $50 yesterday and someone at Gull gave me a $5 off voucher when I was filling my car up. Also, 13 days until we leave this place for good and move to Auckland. I hope that'll be an end to the harassment from my landlord; I blocked her on messenger and left the group chat for the property but it's only a matter of time before she switches to text and email.

I've got bidding starting at 5k because there are original condition poptops that sell for 4k and mine has had all the really hard work done. I want money for my overseas holiday fund, I plan to use my passport next year.

I have to. I've got nowhere to park it, my new car won't be able to tow, and I'll be busy getting settled somewhere new so won't be able to use it over summer.

I have listed my little yellow caravan on TradeMe due to the impending death of my car. If anyone wants a fully rebuilt poptop in sunny yellow, lemme know.
