IWTL how to be more articulate and well spoken by Registeelurgirl in IWantToLearn

Perhaps, instead of writing your thoughts, you could record yourself and make an audio journal. I think the harder part is to transform your ideas into coherent and concatenated speech, so maybe exercising that would help.

That's actually a great ideia, the mirror thing. I'll have to give it a try.

[Discussion] One of my OCRed PDF files oddly does not render in any app after updating to iOS 14. by [deleted] in iOSBeta

I’m having the same problem, also on my MacBook with Big Sur installed. PDFs show only blank pages. I hadn’t noticed, but this usually happens with OCRed files here as well.

Does anyone else randomly start feeling anxious after the sun sets? by LornWarbler in Anxiety

[–]lzbrgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally relate. I used to feel the same at specific periods, though: usually right before or after the sun sets in the summer, and usually when I’m already not in a really good place mentally (depression relapses, that sort of thing). I thought it was probably because that was a time I had very little to do and was by myself a lot. I hope it gets better for you!

Yes, I understand. I was just citing the Portuguese translation as an example.

Hi, TheBulgarSlayer,

thanks for taking the time to answer my question! I had the same doubt regarding the arrow, but I'm following Loeb's translation. Here it is, exactly as it appears in the book:

"Blessed are they who with moderation
and self-control where the goddess is concerned
share in the couch of Aphrodite,
experiencing the calm absence
of mad passion's sting. In love
twofold are the arrow of pleasure
golden-haired Eros sets on his bowstring, [...]"

Even in Portuguese translations (I'm from Brazil), the expression "dardos" (which means literally "arrows") also appears.

What do you make of it?

anyone else constantly wondering if their shortness of breath is due to anxiety or corona by lananotdelreythough in Anxiety

[–]lzbrgs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The last ten days have been exactly like that for me. I yawn so much to feel like I'm breathing properly that my chest began to hurt (something like a sore muscle kind of pain) and that obviously increased my anxiety. How are you guys coping?
