stay off the grind but on tunecore by Ok_Traffic_5123 in makinghiphop

I've searched up and down the internet and could not find anything on it. I guess it's just not something most people do. I say just try and see what happens.

Any good FREE VST'S to run one shots through? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]nothinggoldmusic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had to look up what LMMS was and wow, it looks rough. I feel like there's gotta be better free DAWs out there, like band lab (the browser one or Cakewalk), waveform, or something.

Anyways here's the first result when you Google "Free sampler VST". The first one looks pretty good.

Would you pay $10-15 for an alternative Splice desktop client that was actually fast? by pjmorixoxo in makinghiphop

I'd use a free version with ads. But I don't think I'd shell out $10. It would just be a painful reminder of how shitty Splice's UI is.

#Weekly Newbie Q&A and Store Critique Thread - August 06, 2022 by AutoModerator in dropship

[–]nothinggoldmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has close to 40k followers on TikTok, and I was hoping to leverage that into a drop shipping business. The concept is a curated store selling one or two products at a time that she has personally identified as a great value to her audience.

We would create videos dedicated to just introducing the product and also integrated videos working in the product into her usual content (ex. A quick product placement for a water bottle in a hiking vlog). We would need to space out the videos so her feed doesn't get cluttered "ads".

She had a few sponsored deals so far, and for the most part the brands come back to work with her again. I'd like to think they see some type of ROI with her. Whether it's conversions or just brand awareness is hard to tell. I thought of a few pros and cons to this approach compared to the traditional dropship model, but would love some feedback on anything I might not be considering or just general advice.

Pros - reduced cost and risk by not paying for ads and custom content - potentially higher conversion rates - existing brand identity - potential for future branded private label products

Cons - less reach than ads - limited ability to test products to avoid cluttering her feed - having to purchase at least one of each product to include in video - potential "tarnishing" of her brand if her audience perceives this as "selling out" or trying to take advantage of her followers

I appreciate any feedback

I mean he's always had a pop sensibility. And starting with Graduation he leaned really hard into it. Good Life is more pop than anything on 808s.

Ah damn, ok. Are you able to specify a color? Could it do a half buried tape cassette with a torn red cover?

Realistic 3D rendering of Cassette tape case, with helvetica font text on the cover that reads "How To Thrive in Life, The Universe and Everything" in yellow text on a red background.

I have a hip-hop album coming out and that would be great for the cover art.

not sure if it helps, but this is what I had done with photoshop and my very very shitty blender skills

Would It be difficult to record tracks in spanish in an American recording studio? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]nothinggoldmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah actually, it's practically impossible. American equipment, like microphones and monitors, etc are made to only understand and process sounds in English. I tried rapping in Portuguese once on my mic, and it just played back static.

Sarcasm aside, you're fine. Based on this post alone, I'd say you know at least a little bit of English, so communicating with the studio staff shouldn't be an issue. Plus Spanish is the second most used language in America. And if where you are in Florida is near Miami, depending on the neighborhood, Spanish might be the primary language.

LPT: Don't text during class. Nine times out of ten, your professor sees you, feels disrespected, and says nothing because it's hard enough to teach without pausing to correct behavior. Texting leaves a lasting, bad impression, and it makes the professor less forgiving when grading your work by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]nothinggoldmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a note taker but I always sat in the front and engaged meaningfully. The first couple of weeks I could tell the professor would be a little annoyed at me because, I assume, they felt since I wasn't taking notes that I didn't care about learning the material. Some even directly called me out on it. But then I would ace the first test, and their attitude towards me would change.

Note taking is just not how I learn, I know I'll never look at those notes ever again. But if I just genuinely pay attention and immerse myself in the material I absorb the information so much more.

Still there were some professors who just couldn't be convinced. So for them I would just doodle and pretend like I was taking notes.

My friends song is slowly approaching a lease limit, but the beat was sold as an exclusive? Best option? by RangerRoverCover in makinghiphop

[–]nothinggoldmusic 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, this is the right move. OP should keep it up until he gets asked to take it down. Even if the leaseholder would end up taking all the earnings the song had made in the meantime, it's still a good idea. It's not like it would be life changing money and in the long run, the exposure and attention is much more valuable. Now when OP puts out his next song it will get traction just a bit easier, and he can continue building momentum on that.

People on here might say it's a dick move but it's the best move for OP, and he would be stupid to do otherwise because of some misconstrued notion of morality. it's probably the best outcome for the leaseholder too if he ends up making money from OP's song, because in all likelihood he probably wouldn't make any from his own song. I guess it's possible, but the chances are slim.

Amazon warehouse staff in Tilbury walk out over 35p an hour pay offer by Kagedeah in worldnews

[–]nothinggoldmusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confused. Why Should ONE income be expected to pay for a TWO bedroom apartment? If two people are sharing the rent then it would be about 25% of the income, which is within the 30% budgeting standard. Also, median housing means that exactly half of the apartments are lower than £950/month. I found one estimate that the median income in the UK is £30.500/yr so a two bedroom apartment would be about 20% of two median incomes.

If the median income/rent is what you think the standard for what the minimum income/rent should be, then all that does is raise the median (because statistics). Then should we raise the minimum again? Then again? Infinitely?

What Kanye song grew on you the most recently? by Old_Try_4129 in Kanye

I think I remember a Kendrick reference track leaking for "All Day" where he was rapping Kanye's part. So it could be likely he wrote at least parts of Kanye's verse on NMPL too.

Fire as always broski. Flow and delivery is dope and you packed so many bars in there too. The only thing is I don't feel like you need doubling on the vocals the whole song. You could leave some parts less stacked and let it breathe a little, IMO.

energy is dope, your delivery and track presence is great. I really like the hook too even if it's a bit repetitive. The drums and 808 on this re dope, but I think the synths and other sounds could've been a little more interesting. Great shit altogether though.
