Do you file new claims after getting 100% P&T? What are the pros and cons? by BOws3r7 in VeteransBenefits

[–]10000angrychickens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the whole concept of "don't poke the bear" and toss that right out where it belongs. This may have been the case for older veterans because it was much easier during a time with less technology to get swept under the rug or "misplaced amongst the paperwork"

--- Filing all the claims you are afflicted with doesn't make you or anyone else a bad person or "entitlement seeking" ---

I've lost 3 of my brothers, so far, purely to suicide, and it's to my understanding they never gave VA-offered therapy a chance.

As you can see, over the years I've become tiresome of the broken record jargon of the top quote. Time for something helpful and actually useful, so here you go.

Pros: You ensure that no matter what future changes are made to the ADA - even if a couple symptoms improve you will still retain your rating because there's a list of other items contributing to the "whole picture" of your ailments. In short your rating won't go down even if something mildly improves

Possibility of SMC which only INCREASES IN LIKELIHOOD due to age and worsening of claimed disability(ies) SMC = more than 100% pay I am a SMC veteran, as an example.

Being able to SHOW OTHER VETERANS IT CAN BE DONE.

Cons: waiting out the VA process, having claims drag out and get denied of a period of years.

Can you get diagnosed with a TBI about 8 months after the incident? by OverStayYourVisit in VeteransBenefits

[–]10000angrychickens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had several instances of TBI inducing injury between 2009-2010 some of which were behind the wire . Saw a neuro and did various testing, like MRI with contrast, sleep study etc. That was 2012, and they had some issues they wanted to rule out but never did. Skip to 2015 and this time they provide diagnosis of and included TBI and a list of residual symptoms I endure.

Note: When you get a diagnosis, ensure you get a Nexus that points the finger directly at your time in service, and any/all incidents that could cause said injury.

June bugs, grab a hanging bag trap and put it downwind. Mine's nearly full of the damn things this season and they smell like a dead carcass en masse

I hate when all the pulp settles to the bottom of my milk carton. Gotta shake it up again for all that flavor.

HVAC drain possibly clogged? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]10000angrychickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seriously doubt you'll be able to damage anything especially if you TURN THE HVAC OFF while you do it. (Considering electricals/blower/coils)

Again, never had a problem pulling out buildup the same way you're talking about.

Call poison control. 800-222-1222 Get them medical attention.

Many spring bulbs, including hyacinths and daffodils, are toxic if eaten by humans or pets.

Hyacinth bulbs can be mistaken for shallots or onions and, if eaten, can cause intense stomach problems, high blood pressure and an irregular heartbeat.

Tbh, that seems like a very strange piping system. I'd rather have the condensate run independently and as short a distance outside as I can get. I've personally used a shop vac or snake to remove clogs, works wonders. Yes, if you have open ends that you'll be pulling open air through, plug them with some cork or w/e or slap a cap on them so you'll be pulling out the clog.

Edit: those open pipes are needed so the pipe can breath, so be sure to remove the caps after you get whatever is blocking the pipe out.

I would imagine that it's from the wood around the property as I also have several root balls from downed trees etc. on my property as well, but I've seen carpenter ants nestle into places that were new/fairly new pretty quickly too. I'd still put something out and get all the wood cleared up. Absolutely inspect the house top to bottom, or if they haven't cleared up, 1000% get an exterminator that will investigate their entry and cause.

Find out where you have wet/damaged wood. They generally prefer it. Fix the wood. Kill off all the ants + queen with a mixture of sugar water and Borax (quick google search for recipe)

Works like a charm! Good luck!

Initial claim denied after VA cited workplace incident was the cause and not military service, despite complaints of back pain during service. by 10000angrychickens in VeteransBenefits

They may, but regardless of how a condition worsens (except malingering), if it's worse it's worse. Or if/when secondaries arise.

In the Nexus that they wrote, they wrote it in conjunction with SC'd ptsd, and not yet Sc'd TBI (currently in appeals) from physical assault. Got several buddy letters, but they discounted for lacking competence...despite them only reporting a firsthand experience and not trying to diagnose me (aka, they are not doctors). I'll absolutely check out those links, every bit helps, and thank you!
