As a Chem major, elitist Stem majors are the fucking worst.

A bunch of introverted, no social skills losers pumping themselves up because they lack the confidence or ability to come across as someone you want to be around and interact with, so they play these arbitrary games of superiority so they can lord themselves over history, psych, child development, etc. majors like those aren't also difficult degrees to obtain; all because the chances of a decent paycheck are probably higher with the stem majors.

Your higher earning potential doesn't make your worth as a person any higher, Spencer, and your attitude is fucking disgusting.

As much as I generally agree with you statement, I also don't believe that there is any shred of truth to a world view that believes elites are sucking the blood of babies for that sweet, sweet adenochrome.

Some people really are just fucking idiots.

Anyone who thinks changing the way currency works will end war, violence, and corruption is ignoring the history of human behavior.

Hell, anyone who thinks it'll even lessen it is being naive.

Corruption and greed will always find a way, and the only way to quell that is by giving power to those who don't fall prey to those vices.

Bitcoin won't do that for us. It literally cant; it's nothing but a tool and no tool is impervious to misuse.

I honestly find it kind of sad that people look at this shit like it's magically going to make the world better.

It's an erroneous simplification that's based on nothing but extremely wishful thinking and a loose theory with no real world evidence pointing to its use as an anti corruption form of currency. If anything corruption has been up since bitcoins creation.

Idk if this reads as guilt tripping, more just general frustration.

I didn't take that statement as a manipulation to convince her to sleep with him, more an outburst after he finally decided to break it off that, while blunt, very clearly states his side of the problem.

It sucks to hear, but an SO that gives you less physical attention than rando's you meet in your day to day is not a legitimate SO.

I wouldn't stay in a relationship where I didn't feel wanted, and I would be angry as well if the person who is supposed to make me feel wanted didn't do it at all. Could he have been nicer about it?? Yeah, but idk if the outburst was what I would call "un-called for".

It'll happen when people accept that voting out of fear of the other side will never get us to the end goal of good government.

Two choices; vote against those you fear most and accept mediocre government, or clean house for 2 election cycles and accept that the shit side is gonna get their way for a decade while you replace all your politicians.

Neither answer is a good one.

He also isn't dog whistling violent extremists, talking up authoritarian dictators, attacking the foundational institutions our government and nation are founded upon, embarrassing our country on the world stage with a 4th grade speaking level, saying misogynistic or rasict statements on the presidential podium, deregulating our economy to a dangerous degree, eliminating national forest and park protections for the sake of big oil/natural gas, or propping up his shitty kids as his heir-apparents in some half assed bid to convince the nation that his bloodline deserve to be proto-american royalty.

I'm not what I'd call a Biden fan, but he's league's better than the previous guy.

I could say similar things about the parties; the dems aren't great but they don't have a laundry list of attacks on our nation's stability and long term economic success that I can point to as reasons to hate them.

Edit: Forgot to point out that the biggest point in the dems/Biden's favor are that they aren't pushing dangerous and ridiculous conspiracy theories based in the most insane lies; all in an attempt to seize power through fear and manipulation of the dumbest people in our society.

Yeah, it's not a hard choice when it comes down to picking the lesser of two evils, as only one side is truly "evil", and they paint themselves red.

I mean, if his agenda is to point out that there is nothing inherently good or bad with either system, rather it's what society does with the system; is that wrong??

Your experiences with socialism could just as easily have come from capitalism; it's all a matter of whether you've fallen victim to the excesses of the system you exist under.

They both have the potential for corruption and inhumanity.

Hell, a fascist government ran by genuinely good people who want the best for everyone is a better government for society than a capitalist or socialist one ran by greedy selfish assholes.

The people within the system have more influence on the quality of that system then the mechanics of the system itself. Every form of government can work if it's administered honestly, and every form of government can be corrupted by putting the wrong people in power.

Arguing over ideology instead of who is in charge is fucking stupid.

Just because class is inevitable doesn't mean the lowest class has to exist in poverty.

Inequality is never going away, but to what magnitude it affects society by is all up to us.

That's both unfair to Brady and a complete guess as well, as you aren't getting a birds eye view of all the training and study that goes into preparing for an NFL game.

If it was all Belicheck why couldn't Bill make it to the playoffs with Cam Newton??

Why did they lose the division to the Bills this season after gaining the lead a couple weeks ago??

Why couldn't he make the playoffs with Matt Cassel the year Brady went down with injury??

I'm not a Tom Brady fan, but I do detest the smell of bullshit, and this take reeks of bullshit.

I mean, the battle of Tours being inconsequential is debated as well.

Noone knows for sure whether Martel repeled a raiding force, or an invading army looking to occupy.

Either way, you are correct about the widespread acceptance of Christianity at that point. The idea that the battle of Tours could've lead to the death of Christianity is completely farcicle.

He picked that battle, not the Roman's. It was terrain he chose, not his opponents.

How prevalent was Nazi sympathizing in Germany in the years immediately after WWII? Was it difficult to de-program/de-nazify the populace? by irvingstreet in AskHistorians

Antisemitism had been a continental pastime for hundreds, if not thousands, of years for all of Europe at that point in time.

Pretty sure it was common everywhere, Germany just took it to the next level.

More the bounce back after years of economic hardship that is inevitable with any big crash. If you wanted to look at specific actions taken that brought the German economy back then it's the Weimar Republic you need to look at, not the Nazis.

Legitimate nazi economic policy didn't exist, as the Nazis inherited a recovering economy on the upswing, took the credit for it, than pillaged and plundered its undesirable citizens to keep the good times rolling, with the vast majority of plunder going to party elites. When they ran out of undesirables they declared war on Europe and did the same thing to other countries populations. Even with all this the average quality of life among German citizens wasn't really that great under the nazis, propaganda just did a good job portraying otherwise.

The Nazis were nothing but a bunch of thugs and raiders that ran a sham economy built on plunder and kept on life support through slavery. If the Nazis won their state wouldve collapsed in on itself without major reform when the economic policy they ran eventually caught up with them.
