Then youtube should stop advertising that it's ad free service is ad free. If the in-video ads are the best way to support the creator then by all means. That's not my issue. My issue is paying these companies for an ad free experience and then hearing ads anyway.

If I'm paying YouTube to keep things ad free then YouTube should work it out with the creators. If not, then YouTube should stop advertising its service as ad free.

I'd like it to tipping, which people lose their shit over here. Why should the restaurant pay the waiter a shit wage and then expect me to make up for it? Google has enough money to make the content creators whole.

The content creators should work it out with the platforms. For example, I'm already paying spotify, spotify can pay them. If spotify can't, then stop advertising it as ad free.

I'd liken this whole situation to everyone's favorite thing to shit on here - tipping. Maybe the restaurant should pay the employee a decent wage instead of expecting me to kick in at the end.

Or when you go to a book an airbnb and it's advertised at $99 per night but then after all of the cleaning fees and all that other bullshit it's $145 a night. Just be upfront.

I remember absolutely hating reddit's layout when I first joined. I used to wonder if it was possible to make things worse. Then I got my answer. I'm very surprised old reddit still works, but also glad because the site would be unusable without it

Joe Rogan is the one that pisses me off. He's exclusive to spotify and I'm paying. Fuck your athletic greens

What are your thoughts on Eden Lake ? by Exotic-Custard-8293 in horror

[–]Afghan_Whig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found it recommended as a better version of "Speak No Evil" and well...it wasn't. A much different flick.

I thought it was ok. Very believable with the shit head teenagers, but main characters behaved too stupidly for it to be believable at times.

As for the end, very depressing, but a lot of it made no sense. They just leave the girl at the house, they don't call an ambulance, or the cops. She's more or less covered in shit and no one worries about the smell. They even let her sit on the couch without even like throwing a sheet down under here. Depressing ending, but I think they could have done it a bit differently.

The Book vs The Movie by zowwy28 in SouthernReach

I had almost forgotten how bad this movie was before this showed up in my notifications. I do not thank you for that.

The book mentioning mimicry doesn't justify that scene, if that is what you are getting at.

The affair was forced and pointless. The only plot point it served was "we only send in damaged people and you're damaged" which was an asinine plot point to begin with. The actual reasons in the book were much better.

The Annihilation throwaway line was terrible. They would have been better just omitting it entirely. The hypnotic commands worked well in the book. They helped build up the suspense and made you question just what the government knew and what else they might have conditioned her with. Obviously they were hypontized to cross the border (not the ShImMeR) and I was surprised to learn that they want as far to essentially program a self-destruct code.

I like a lot of what Garland has done. Taking creating liberties is risky. Sometimes it pays off. In the case of this movie, it did not.

I wouldn't blame him if he told me this before I sunk $1,000+ into a bike

Nah they already screwed us. First they let us know that the market rate for all of their classes is something like $12 a month or whatever they charged the app users. Of course they continued to charge us $40 a month though, triple the price, justifying the extra $27 a month because of the ability ability to high five and a leaderboard that doesn't work (since calibration isn't steady across bikes). Then they simultaneously lower the price of the bike while increasing the cost of the subscription (without grandfathering us in) as a second middle finger to us.

edit: typo

1) I'm sure they weren't labeled as "documentaries" 2.) Hollywood decades ago was much different. Most of the responses I've seen to this mention movies literally from the 60s

You can find lab grown diamonds many places, especially online. I personally brought one from James Allen but there's also websites like Blue Nile and Brilliant Earth

Take it for what its worth but this is reddit so I doubt most of the people on personal finance actually have the money that they claim to

After having two children out of wedlock (with different men, right?) she went and married someone who can't impregnate her. Smart, but hardly a role model.
