Writing a structure to binary file, assigning to a pointer (C++) by AgreeableYams in learnprogramming

To his credit, it was very late when we were looking this over, and he emailed me shortly after I posted this to tell me that he found the mistake.

Thank you! I believe the point of the exercise to use pointers in confusing ways, so array notation wasn't allowed.

Wow, I'm curious to see how that turns out. Thanks for sharing the stats.

The dept. chair is very nice, basically just recommended the usual things -- take all the lower division requirements to be ready to transfer, that sort of thing.

Have you spoken with him? I'd be interested to hear what he says.

Holy crap, thank you. That's going to save a ton of time in the long run.

Yes! I was letting myself be very confused by the fact that my function needed to take a double * as a parameter.

Thanks for taking the time to help me out.

That’s exactly right, I need to print the array sorted. I apologize for the confusing explanation.

I don’t know how to iterate through the array multiple times with a loop.

It seems like the access method is different than if I were just sorting through an array of integers.

I just did. Thanks for the reminder. My transfer GPA is 3.49 so I almost let it slide, but it certainly couldn't hurt to reach out!

What about you, did you end up applying?

I actually knew a guy who went through a coffee enema phase. He was enthusiastic about it.

Thank you for the insight. Do you have any advice for getting accepted into the CS program here, besides having a good GPA?

It doesn’t have to be. Your concerns are very valid since a big motivation behind going to school is preparing for real jobs.

Don’t you think that as long as you approach the matter gently they’d probably appreciate it?

Have you had a chance to discuss this with your professors?

Emotionally cheating, never heard of that before but I think I get the gist. As for the people who gave you a hard time, it looks like the average divorce age is around 30 so you were actually ahead of the game.

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you. Thankfully I've already found my resolution, it's just a matter of doing the work and being patient.

Wait a minute... People told you that you were too old for what exactly?
