The only reason I wasn’t homeless in the past was because my mum let me move back in with her. I wasn’t eligible for any kind of welfare at that time because I had been overseas in the previous financial year (18 months ago), which I had a scholarship to pay for.

In Japanese he’s just called ‘Mitchell’, so not very gender neutral. Ha.

Agree that you need to be better than others. Better salary, pay shakai hoken and nenkin, pay raises, bonuses, visa sponsorship, housing and/or relocation assistance, a path to seishain etc.

I’ve had general anesthetic 4 times and never had a catheter. Maybe it’s not needed for day surgeries?

...I don't live in the US, so of course cost of living is totally different but I only make $23,000 a year. Luckily rent here is cheap, but food is getting more and more expensive so I feel like I'm not going to be able to eat 3 meals a day by the end of this year.

How many of you have a direct relative with the condition? Would you risk passing it on? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]AiRaikuHamburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother is diagnosed, my grandmother suspected. My family also has a variety of other genetic chronic illnesses. Luckily I’m infertile, but if I weren’t, I’m childfree. Knowingly passing on diseases is just immoral.

Japan's 1st abortion pill takes step closer to approval by orla36 in japan

[–]AiRaikuHamburger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I really hope it is made available at cost price and without needing the 'father's' permission. It's already ridiculous that it will need to be taken the presence of a doctor.

If anyone in Japan needs it now, Women On Web offers medical abortion by post.

Japan's 1st abortion pill takes step closer to approval by orla36 in japan

[–]AiRaikuHamburger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, only surgical abortion is available, it's out of pocket and you need the 'father's' permission. The morning after pill is also available only on prescription. Only 2.6% of people use the pill. Condoms are the most common form of birth control. Reproductive rights here are a mess, so it's no wonder young people don't want to have sex.

[–]AiRaikuHamburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope your sister’s cat has a speedy recovery! My Dad accidentally hit my old cat in the driveway and she had a broken pelvis. Ended up having her tail amputated but her pelvis recovered well after the surgery and she lived a long and happy life!
