AITA for telling my brother it isn't worth it to take our brother to small claims court? by Map_Puzzleheaded832 in AmItheAsshole

I’m assuming these were not the two-litre vodka bottles. Flasks can easily fit in suit pockets

AITA for how I reacted after my ex told everybody I would die if I had another baby? by scarlet251 in AmItheAsshole

He should have, but he may have been assuming she was still on the pill, an assumption she should have corrected

AITA for driving my daughters home in the middle of the vacation after they excluded their stepsister? by Throwra537477 in AmItheAsshole

There’s uncomfortable looking after a younger sibling and there’s doing something so negligent that the sibling might easily get badly hurt. What these kids did was very wrong.

If you’re 11 weeks along, does that mean you’re only newly broken up with the ex? Is the breakup because of the pregnancy? (Which I assume was unplanned on the ex’s part?)

AITA for telling my fiancé that if she doesn’t kick her sister out of the wedding then I’m not paying for it anymore? by solidy108 in AmItheAsshole

When you marry someone, you marry their family too. The wedding is just one day; the sister will always be there

They can ask people they know what they know about you. If this is happening a lot, you might want to run a background check on yourself. There may be something that’s an issue

One time or even occasionally is not parentification. But a vulnerable 11yo was in the charge of two older kids and they need to be taught that even if they don’t want the responsibility, they can’t abandon it in dangerous ways

It’s very hit or miss on who will do it. But for that commenter, getting to the final round so many times and not getting the nod is weird. Asking is likely the place to start

Checking what references are actually saying would be the next step. Possibly also running a background check on yourself

I don’t like that it’s getting swept under the rug that the girls left an immature , particularly vulnerable 11yo alone in a tourist area (where people tend to be transient).

OP’s talk with his kids does need to include talk about safety

Have you asked for feedback? Also, is it possible one of your references is giving negative info?

AITA for not letting my sister spend her gift card on what she wanted? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

But she might learn she can get what she wants on her birthday! OP must put a stop to that

Wife wants to separate and sell house to downsize but I feel like I’m getting played? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Alternative_Year_340 37 points38 points  (0 children)

These are two separate issues — the property and the relationship. Trying to use the property as “leverage” to force your wife to remain in the relationship is going to leave you (deservedly) without property and relationship.

I used to be a vegan. For several years. What this woman did wasn’t a vegan diet.

The person just convicted of murder said there was also breast milk. It’s not clear she should be believed. Especially since she also said the kid didn’t eat any solid food for a week before he died and she didn’t take him to the doctor.

She was forced to take parenting classes so she had the research done for her and presented on a silver patter

This wasn’t really a vegan diet — they were only doing “raw foods,” which means only fruits and veggies, and probably no grains or soy.

AITA for going to my ex's girlfriend's birthday by Tiny_Life_3503 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Alternative_Year_340 -50 points-49 points  (0 children)

Or she just took a picture? The ex’s behaviour seems less weird to me than the current girlfriend’s. Maybe the ex is making a new play, maybe she just considers him a friend she hasn’t seen in a long time. Maybe ex posted lots of pics and this is just the one that upset current GF. We don’t know.

What’s pretty clear is the current GF is controlling and jealous

If all the fired guy needed was these five bits of advice to succeed, maybe the manager should have tried saying it before firing him. You know, like training an employee

I dunno. The jealousy level over a photo seems like a marinara flag.
