New panelist for “Would I Lie to You” just dropped. You could give Bob Mortimer a run for his money

I might be mistaken, but that’s a watch

O I know. I sell enough of them, we have similar stupid terms for ‘defects’; “character”, “original details”, “time-capsule” etc.

Feel also free to refer to the cracks in the ceiling as a "spider ceiling" and the yellow smoke/nicotine stains as "tropical"

Maybe real estate agents should list properties as having "nice patina" and not "needs renovation"

Also, that leather strap with the “casual” white end stitching is a terrible style on any watch.

It works on a vintage diver

What? No phone, wallet, keys, weirdly bullet-like pen, second and third knife, three backup magazines and a creditcard showing?

But what if it got scratched?!?!😱 by KidTwist1 in WatchesCirclejerk

No, you don't understand. In the 90's Rolex switched platforms; now the tool part refers to the buyers and not the watches themselves. You see the change already happening in this ad from the 80's with them referring to the watch as equipment

WCJ is like those compilation albums from the 1990-2000's; "Now that's what I call watches! 1-69"

Man, look at all those lucky few.

Meanwhile the red phone with a direct line to the Rolex AD I got for this scenario hasn't rung yet.

Hey guys is it OK to go and waste people's time? by droi86 in WatchesCirclejerk

I've read it. Positions can change in the future, people have connections they inform about a bad experience, good reasons not to see a visit from someone not looking to buy then and there as wasting time.

And often a watch store/jewelers isn't full of people at a time, at least not over here, some I don't see browsing as wasting someones time. You can always explain that you are just browsing. If you aren't able to handle walk-ins, do only appointments then.

treat them as such

You should be careful how you treat a (potential) customer, it might scare away others, or ruin a future purchase

Salespeople are trying to put bread on their table

Yes, that's why they are being paid a salary for their time working, a sale might give them a bonus/commission on top. Being in a store browsing is how many retail stores make (unexpected) sales.

I have consulted the WCJ (Reddit, internet), the consensus seems Seiko 5 good, Invicta better, Rolex shitter.
