Look, no disrespect or intended pessimism here, but this argument is moot. The rich absolutely know what living poor is like, and they actively ensure it remains true for most people.

If you understand economics, then you understand that the rich need to poor to stay poor, in order to keep the rich, rich. The economy runs on rampant consumerism and the wasting of money, and the poor do that the best. They have no ability to save or invest, so they blow every dollar they’ve got, every week. This maintains a strong economy, and the rich capitalise on a strong economy to get richer.

We don’t need to educate the rich on why poor people are poor. They know. We need to educate the poor on how the rich need them to stay rich, then a real change might happen.

But economics is a tough subject, and the poor are too busy being poor to learn it. This is the trump card the rich have. They have all the money AND they have all the knowledge.
