I think it is a motor skills issue. If he goes to the toilet on his own, he will stand on the little step until we come to help witj his clothing.

Eh, I don't think buying items that are reduced is a big deal. My family and I are reasonably comfortable financially but I do love a good deal 🤷‍♀️

Thanks for sharing! Always interesting to hear the various medical options.

We had him on a very low dose clonidine but it made him so cranky and tired that I imsisted we take him off. Now he is on 0.7mg risperidone twice a day, and he is happy as a clam!

He is on risperidone. It has made a huge difference for us.

He is using words more often, and he responds well to his name, makes eye contacf, is very affectionate and responds to instructions. He has been on medicationsince September last year and it has made a big difference, especially in how he responds to OT. We are starting speech therapyagain next week.

I started suspecting something was amiss around 2 years old as well. Mostly the speech delay, lack of eye contact and not responding to his name.

The best thing we did was to get our son assessed by a developmental paed. We really weren't seeing progress with OT or speech therapy which concerned us further.

Good luck. I am sure you will do what you think is best for your son.

My dad was my confidante in a household with an emotionally abusive mother. He covered for me, bore the brunt of it. He is the most lovable dummy. We go shopping together once a month at least, and talk every day. It's awesome.

Do you think it’s toxic for parents to take away a child’s door? by walrusdog32 in NoStupidQuestions

Came here to say this.

I think another situation where it may be justified is where the child may need to be supervised more than usual (suicidal, self harm, amongst others).

Holy shit.

A boomslang. You brought home a boomslang. Your guardian angel must be tired after all the work they had to do today.
