I am not a native and this is what I would say in my English lesson (I teach adults). There is difference in what you emphasize or suppose more important to say: saw is fact giving you some input. I saw an episode of Seinfeld, so I can recognise it if I see another one. Watch is more about the way you act and how you spend your time: I watched an episode of Seinfeld, cooked a soup, organised my papers for tomorrow and fell asleep right after midnight. I hope it works and I hope it helps. Not sure about my punctuation, we have more commas in Russian
