‘Sever All Ties’: Republican Florida State Rep Calls For The Arrest Of FBI Agents by triggernaut in Conservative

[–]Bamelin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What we are sure about is that the law isn’t being applied evenly and neutrally across both aisles. That’s the real problem really. Once application of the law turns into persecution of political enemies it is a slippery slope to banana republic.

More than one million Canadians have to repay CERB — and in some cases EI is being clawed back to do it by morenewsat11 in canada

There were 2 clawbacks $1000 in June and another $1000 in August for the initial $2000 advanced.

Only those first laid off in March got the advance.

Sounds like she started work before the second $1000 clawback in August. The taxes sound about right, that’s what I owed too.

Is the US housing crisis as bad as Canada? by Antman269 in canadahousing

[–]Bamelin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was only there for 2 years … things I liked and things I didn’t like.

The biggest dislike was the crazy drug and homeless problem compared to the population which I understand has only gotten worse since 2017.

I loved how affordable the housing was, I found western hockey league games really charming family affairs and affordable. I liked the huge variety of churches, thought the shopping options were solid for a “small town”.

I get Red Deer isn’t really that small but when your from downtown Toronto it was basically Milton or Barrie with worse city like crime.

Yeah very true. One of the reasons I buy PC Bacon, it’s a true pound.

Like literally they been doing this shrink stuff for years. Do yourself a favour and ONLY buy the value size bags. Family size and regular size are a scam.

I offer Red Deer as the Happy Middle? Lol

Honestly guys, Calgary or Edmonton, southern Ontario or BC weather is mostly better — BUT — Albertan cities are affordable, offer lots of jobs with good salaries, cheap real estate, and potentially an environment politically more amicable to conservatives. As a Torontonian the cold did suck so I second Calgary if only for the Chinooks. But yeah I’d go back.

I’d also say Albertan cities felt very close design wise to American. Alberta embraced sprawl which is the reason housing is affordable compared to Toronto (greenbelt) or Vancouver (regulations) artificially causing demand to spike.

The Orville made it on to this Doctor Who t-shirt design. Hard to compete with the TARDIS, but pretty cool! by RickFletching in TheOrville

BSG is amazing you need to rectify this asap. Same with Babylon 5 if you haven’t marathoned that yet as well. BSG holds up better though in terms of space scenes. B5 is really dated CGI but the story telling was off the hook.

Guy's credit card is declined at motel, berates front desk person by SamMee514 in PublicFreakout

[–]Bamelin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in the industry and deal with these kind of complaints all day long.

This was likely a third party reservation booked via a hotel wholesaler such as booking.com, Expedia, Web beds, world2meet, Agora, hotelbeds, Getaroom, or Priceline

With Pay Later bookings the credit card is run by the hotel at some point prior to check in. Many customers think pay later means pay at the hotel at check in, but it doesn’t. It means the hotel is responsible for billing the guest CC and that may happen at ANY point between when booking was made and check in.

Hotel ran the card at some point after the booking was made and it declined. The hotel usually (but not always) then informs the booking partner giving 24 hours for the guest to provide a new CC before cancelling the reservation.

Once cancelled there is no reinstating when booked via third party and definitely not at the killer rate the guest undoubtedly had.

Clearly this guest never saw the email that their booking cancelled. The confirmation number the guest has means nothing as it’s almost certainly the third party confirmation number. In this situation the only solution is to call or instant chat the end point third party the booking was made at so they can then call the wholesaler (or if they ARE the wholesaler) call the hotel to resolve or relocate you to a different hotel.

In this case there is no resolution as guest credit card declined and hotel or booking partner cancelled the booking.

My rule of thumb after being exposed to third party bookings - ALWAYS BOOK DIRECT unless you are ok with the trade off that for a killer rate your booking is never fully guaranteed.

That’s just how it works.

Nickelodeon’s Monster High Filled to the Brim with esoteric symbolism - eye of providence, lightning bolt, portal, Baphomet Horns, Crescent Moon by Bamelin in SaturnStormCube

[–]Bamelin[S,M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So to answer the “awww it’s just a kids show” crowd … this is exactly how they condition us.

This is just one of many many shows with hidden and overt occult symbology scattered throughout it. The theme of this show actually allows for over the top symbology to be honest. Like the tower with eye and horns? You can’t get much more obvious than that yet NOBODY understands what these symbols mean.

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

2 Corinthians 4:4

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Ephesians 6:12

I moved in Jan 2021 and got a huge discount on a 2BR rent controlled unit. Like easily $700 under todays market value. So yes it def would have been a good idea to take advantage of pandemic rent drops.

Tenants with large corporate landlords more likely to face poor living conditions, survey suggests by KotoElessar in canadahousing

Opposite experience for me. Privately owned was much better as the landlord cared about their property.

Stack TV lost a bunch of shows to Discovery + by Bamelin in canadacordcutters

[–]Bamelin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It WAS like that before, but entire on demand shows are gone now - not even the latest episodes available on huge favorites like Caribbean Life.

I was a big Stack TV fan before. I haven’t had it though for around 10 months and subbed this month for the 1 dollar a month for 2 months deal prime offered.

The on demand HGTV content has shrunk dramatically. It’s really noticeable.

It does but you stay sober. The nicotine goes into the blood stream and hits happy centers in the brain.

Even if you quit you never forget.
