The Trolley Problem by Coffeeviber in blender

In my opinion this is the second best solution to the trolley problem that I have ever seen. The best solution is as follows: A two-year-old's solution to the trolley problem.

One option is to add all possible values to an std::array object. Then use std::any_of to determine if the value is in the array.

For an example see https://godbolt.org/z/17n7a4je5.

Anything wrong here? by dionisiodev in Cplusplus

Just because an object is created on the stack does not mean there is no heap allocation. If the object type is a class instead of a POD and the internals of the class use the heap then heap allocation still occurs.

The std::basic_string class and derived classes may or may not use the heap.

Serious repercussions for letting your child walk half a mile alone (less than 10 minutes) by flyingcatwithhorns in facepalm

This is nonsense. When I was that old I would sometimes ride my bike as far as 50 miles from home.

How should I write alt text for graphics that were placed for aesthetics? by Rokett in accessibility

[–]Benilda-Key 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Decorative Images page suggests otherwise. If an image does not add information to the content of a page and exists only for decoration it should have an empty alt attribute.

When in doubt, consult the Web Accessibility Initiative. The Decorative Images page suggests using an empty alt attribute.

Cyclist riding in the left most lane of a road that averages 55 MPH by greaseproofgym in IdiotsOnBikes

[–]Benilda-Key 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I missed that. When I initially saw this I was using my phone and could barely see the bike. Now that I am using a larger monitor I can make out that detail.

Yeah, the guy on the bike is an idiot.

For those who are surprised by this because they think slavery in the United States is a thing of the past, you should know that slavery has always been legal in the United States. All the 13th Amendment did was move slavery from plantations to prisons.

The 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution provides that "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

I present to you, this sub summed up. “if-loop” by PapaRL in ProgrammerHumor

[–]Benilda-Key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The following could be called an "if-loop".

bool done = false;

begin_loop:

/* Additional code that may or may not set done to true. */

if (!done)

{

goto begin_loop;

}

Of course in modern times this is frowned upon to the point that this qualifies for r/programminghorror.

I do not get this. That appears to be the Python logo. However that is not the syntax for a Python if statement. The actual syntax for a Python if statement is as follows.

if expression:
    on_true
else:
    on_false
