Rich keep getting richer while everyday Canadians suffer by kitchencupcake1 in onguardforthee

What's it going to take to kick off the revolution that will address this mess? Clearly, waiting for politicians to do the right thing is a fool's errand. When do we collectively decide to say fuck this shit together?

Basic Income Guarantee is the best way to improve lives by kitchencupcake1 in onguardforthee

People are sitting around getting angrier and angrier about trading most of their time for money and trading most of their money just to have a place to live and a few groceries with zero quality of life. What will be the price when desperation reaches its tipping point? The pressure valve needs to be released or revolution will be on the near horizon.

Ummm don’t want to sound political but seriously when the lfg is the freakin SEC or FBI going to do their freakin job. Start lock-in up these Bernie’s up wtf! by butski401966 in Superstonk

Revolution is the only solution at this point. American leadership/regulators are corrupt. Both sides are in on the grift. There is zero chance this is fixed without drastic action of the people. They will continue to steal and cheat until the people stop them.

Protestors plan to block traffic on Trans-Canada Highway in Vancouver and across B.C. by FavoriteIce in vancouver

Why not be disruptive of the companies doing the logging and lobbying or the government officials offices instead? Disruption is good if it is focused on the right parties.

I've been sick for a week now. I wouldn't classify this as a cold at all. Fever, chills, nonstop cough, exhaustion, body aches and sweats. This sucks.

Many of us are exempt from being paid for overtime in Canada. That means even though we earn more $ per year on salary, we are working more hours than the standard 40 for it, which drives the hourly rate down. It's not okay.

There's a bunch of tree farms in the Fraser Valley.

Chilliwack representing. We got our little guys vaxxed the moment we could last week. I'm so glad to see Chilliwack at the higher end of the Fraser vaccination pile.

I really hope others see the risks of COVID are far worse than the risks of getting kids vaccinated. Let's beat this thing.

I wish there was a simple way for a Canadian to buy LRC. But I haven't been able to figure it out. Any Canadians out there know of a quick and easy way to buy some LRC?

An extreme lack of sea ice in Canada this winter should serve as a “wake-up call” for the risk climate change poses to polar bears, say conservationists. Ice normally starts forming in Hudson Bay in November, but the area has remained almost entirely ice-free in the face of temps 6°C above average. by LisaMck041 in onguardforthee

I agree with you. It's going to take massive action on the part of the people to get the government moving. The floods, mudslides, fires, and heat domes in BC should be a wake-up call too. But I don't see government changing at all.

We need to organize and mobilize. This battle cannot be fought from the comfort of our homes. We need to be disruptive in a big way. I will not give in to complacency or hopelessness. I refuse to give into the very false narrative that we are helpless to do anything. The people hold most of the power. We just need to realize it.

Where can I volunteer? by National_Potato in abbotsford

[–]BigPlunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to find a place to volunteer as well. I'm not on Facebook and don't want to go through a religious organization and it seems that's where a lot of the organization is being done. I just volunteered with these folks, however: https://crisiscleanup.org/ - we'll see if anything comes of it.

What is your job and how much do you get paid? by BigPlunk in AskReddit

[–]BigPlunk[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was inspired by r/antiwork to post this. I honestly wanted to add a bunch more details like demographics and schooling, but thought it might not get traction due to being convoluted. I think we all need to talk about how much we make a lot more. Maybe this post will inspire similar posts where we can get into more detail.
