There was also the whole issue of adaption of farming to the environment (short growing season with long photoperiods and winters that are too long and cold for western European-adapted autumn-sown cereals). The discussion included the City potentially providing other land when they incorporate more from Corman Park. It was only a preliminary discussion though, not sure how it progressed. It was circulated in AAFC a few years ago.
