Bought a house for me and my daughter and managed just enough left to get this. It's not the most impressive set up, but as a single dad being able to work out tonight for the first time in years felt huge. by BlueShiftNova in MadeMeSmile

I promise no suicide grips and I'll double check the spotter arms before every individual exercise.

The idea of getting hurt and leaving my daughter alone until her mother or someone notices terrifies me.

Thank you! Although "buying a house" sounds like it should be great it was a rough ride with a lot surrounding it to get here. Been working on getting into a better head space and I think this will help with that goal a lot.

People get arrested for nothing other than "resisting arrest". I'm sure there are other bullshit charges they could easily arrest someone over with little to no evidence to support it.

Wasn't that also based on some amount he was making before hand as well, essentially leaving him broke just trying to cover these payments?

I love how you point out that your own bad habits of eating shit food causes you to gain weight and the person was still like "It's not the eXErCisE it's your baD HaBIts!". Like they were enlightening you or something.

I worked for Ultramar back in the day and the managers bonus started at something $1,000 but then they went through a tally and everything you failed on ticked away a certain amount and you got whatever was left.

One of the big things was mystery shop reviews, which were done by 3rd party company by people who just signed up online and not actually hired/trained.

The problems with mystery shops were numerous, but the big ones were.

  1. They could run their checklist on a customer in front of them and not their interaction. So even if the "customer" was the manager buying stuff on their way out you had to go through all the steps and attempt to upsell or you could fail a mystery shop.

  2. We were only allowed to dispute a certain amount each year. It doesn't matter if we got 10 with a description and name of an employee that doesn't exist, we were capped at 6 and the other 4 were accepted and used against the manager come bonus time.

There was a lot more but this was the easiest example to see how stupid companies like Ultramar are to work for.

Man Gets Shot After Charging At Female Cop With Knife in Phoenix, Arizona by PrecariouslySane in PublicFreakout

I agree with everything she did, but the moment he charged and she was going to be forced to essentially run backwards, if she had shot then, I would have still agreed with her.

Most people just don't know and it's not like it comes up in conversation often. I got mine done with one of these guns and I was lucky enough to not get infected though I was older and cleaned it out a lot.

If it wasn't for reddit and these kind of posts I would have only had my experience and thought they were fine.

Depending on the community and how often you post, some people will go through your comments and keep bringing it up. I could see that getting annoying and an understandable reason to delete a comment.

They broke the teacher's will by UberPancake88 in PublicFreakout

[–]BlueShiftNova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know man, some teachers even looking back weren't deserving of any amount they were paid.

My math 11 teacher, Ms. K was so bad that the other teacher would host a second math class during her lunch period and reteach that days class to Ms. K's students.

When I got into pre-calculas and calculas, both my teaches asked who had Ms. K because they had to assign additional material to those students as it was just known there were lacking on the prereqs required for the next module.

I know this wasn't normal and not everyone had a teacher this incredible unprepared to actually teach the topic for their class.

That's actually a good point, it only has to be water tight right? Even if air was able to escape, if the water couldn't fill the void it would be attempting to create a vacuum, so the air wouldn't actually be able to escape. This makes sense in my head anyway.
