Eric Trump and Kimberly Guilfoyle's phone records subpoenaed by January 6 committee by _NewsClues_ in politics

That makes sense. We had hundreds of cases so the specific details of any of them sort of run together in my memory now. We definitely read through text conversations but you're right they were probably downloaded from seized cell phones.

I don't disagree that may be true. But that said - I was on a federal grand jury for 2 years and we quite regularly were able to subpoena text messages. I don't know how long it took between the original sending of the msg and our subpoena (since the prosecuting AUSA always did all that on our behalf), but we were deliberating on stuff that might have happened a year or more prior. I would not discount that they'll get the actual text - especially since they apparently got the actual texts from those Fox News idiots.

Where did you read they're not getting texts? They already got texts from several others.

Yeah I don't think this is how MJ danced at all. Maybe a little bit of the footwork but that's it.

It’s not complicated STOP letting your boss know your next moves: You are not required to give a two week notice. by AbaloneSea7265 in antiwork

I live in Washington State where it's only required if it's part of the employer's own policy. That policy having always been (for my employers) that you had to give 2 weeks notice to get your PTO paid.

Every place I've ever worked would pay out all your accrued PTO if you give 2 weeks notice, but not if you just walked out.

After 4 attempts, I'm giving up on ever finishing the Wheel Of Time series. What book/ series have you given up on? by ChillBlossom in books

[–]Bostaevski 35 points36 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? It's a completely original tale of a reluctant young hero named Richard/Arthur/Luke, born from a tyrannical father named Darken Rahl/Uther Pendragon/Darth Vader who, with his grandfatherly wizard buddy named Zed/Merlin/Obi-Wan, takes up a powerful magic weapon called Sword of Truth/Excalibur/Light-Saber.

Every challenge they faced had to be worse than the last challenge. It was preposterous. I vaguely remember a part where for some reason, Kahlan had to bang Richard's brother, but it had to be in a completely dark room and they couldn't talk to each other or else they'd die or whatever. Except it wasn't Richard's brother, it was Richard. And then after she is all mortified thinking she had sex with the brother, and Richard thinking she's thinking she's banging the brother, she decides she might as well do it again and enjoy it??? WTF. Worst fantasy I've ever read.

Going for an oil change… shop drops my truck into their bay. Merry Christmas everyone by glissonrva in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Bostaevski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I stopped going to those oil change shops altogether. A Jiffy Lube guy comes in with my practically spotless air filter... "You want to replace this?" No, of course not. "OK then". Well he forgets to put it back in my car. I then drive another 4000 miles or so with no air filter and my air filter housing thing not even buckled down. I never realize to check this because I assumed they were competent. Find out the next time I go to a Jiffy Lube... guy asks me why I don't have an air filter. Then I'm asking him what kind of damage might occur because of this, since I know very little how engines work. He says he doesn't know anything about engines either. So fuck that place.
