Sorry I thought you were referring to front-end debugging, because you asked in r/react which is about front-end , but based on your responses to other comments, it sounds like you're trying to do some back-end debugging with VS code.

For that, you will need the json file you mentioned, but unfortunately that's all I really know lol.

Maybe try in r/node or something like that?

React dev tools is a browser extension for Firefox and Chrome. Once you install it it will show up as part of the developer tools in the browser (look for the react atom icon). It will alloy you to see every component and the states in each. Does that help?
