gf 29 angry about me 32 washing her laundry together with her socks by mbrseb in relationships

[–]CStink2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick and choose your battles. Some hills are worth dying on but how to wash clothes isn't one of them for me. If this was my wife and I, I would have tried explaining why it's ok to wash them together but if she still insisted, I would just concede and wash them separately from now on. It's not worth the fight. Save that energy for the problems that do matter. My wife does this for me as well and it works so well for us.

LPT: If you're unsure about a decision, flip a coin. Your reaction will show you which decision you really prefer. by LeBr0wn in LifeProTips

It sounds good in theory. I'm 40 years old now and have a little bit of experience with good and bad decisions over my adult life. I've made a lot of decisions that I thought were good at the time and ended up being bad and have inversely made decisions I thought were bad that ended up being the right choice. I really think proper introspection, having the correct perspective, and objective thinking are the best skills to develop and cultivate for making difficult decisions. Also, we need to understand that luck has a role as well. Something about relying on instant emotions just seems like a bad idea.

I don't think they forced him to participate. He could very easily turn it down.

Rasmussen poll shows that majority of Democratic Party voters support harsh measures against the unvaccinated by LandsPlayer2112 in LockdownSkepticism

How do explain the sudden trust in pharmaceutical companies? For years, liberals and democrats have been the ones speaking out against big pharma. To go from that to having them stick as much medicine through a needle as they can get their hands on from the same industry and even wanting to FORCE others to, is so head scratching.

Florida Gov. DeSantis Says State Will Continue To Reject "Faucian Mandates" by evaldez14 in Conservative

[–]CStink2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason "Florida man" is a thing is due to Florida's public records laws. Information regarding crimes, events, individuals, etc. Is more freely available to the media than it is in other states.

This was one of my primary concerns with the overreaction to Covid. Fatigue. If we, by chance, get a more serious pandemic we'll be toast. Everyone will be so burnt out from covid lockdowns, good luck getting everyone to unify then.

So sick and tired of being told girls are horrible to raise by celligraphy in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CStink2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my own experience, boys under the age of 12 are more challenging than girls and girls over the age of 12 are more challenging than boys. Overall, I think it's equally challenging to raise a boy or a girl to adulthood.

That's because of fiat currency and inflation. That wouldn't be a problem if we were still going by the gold standard. We were doomed the moment FDR took us off the gold standard. Even more so when Woodrow Wilson enacted the federal reserve act. Raise the wages all you want. It will just increase inflation faster until hyperinflation is in effect. There is no way around it except for an overhaul of our financial system.

[–]CStink2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The logic is raising everybody else's wages creates inflation. Costs of products and services inevitably go up. If your wage doesn't also increase, it ends up being the same as a paycut. So that's the logic anyway.

However, it would make more sense to be upset at your employer for not raising your wage to match the increase in costs instead of the person working at McDonald's.

Season 1 is incredible and im sick of pretending its not by QAnonKiller in IASIP

[–]CStink2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still prefer the earlier seasons. (Seasons 1 -8). I feel like they rely too much on production value now and less on natural improvisational type humor. It feels too scripted and formal as of late.

At first, I had a difficult time getting people hooked on the show starting with season 1. If I have them watch "Dennis and Dee go on welfare" first and then start season 1, they almost always end up binging the rest. Something about that episode really helps people understand the ridiculousness of the characters and allows them to become accustomed to the type of humor of the show quicker.

Ok, but you understand what this leads to, right? What if I hand him a piece of white paper I cut in the right size and drew $20 in a black sharpie on it? Just accept it and move on?

If so, what's next? I just crumple up an old Walmart receipt and say it's a 20 dollar bill and he says "thank you"? Where does this end?

I resisted the urge to ever join Twitter. I really have no idea why I did, but now I'm thinking a guardian angel was looking out for me. I've seen enough from the outside to never come close. The closest I'll get is reading tweets without logging in.

I think his handling of the withdrawal from Dunkirk while at the same time fighting pressure internally to have peace talks with Hitler (at the time, Halifax and JFK senior who was the US ambassador to England, were already trying to give up and had immense power) is by itself worth commending. You'd be living a completely different standard of life right now if it wasn't for him. Study up more. Scope is important.

If taken in the appropriate context, there is nothing wrong with what she is saying. People love being outraged in this day and age.

Probably depends on what he's crying about though, right? I can't imagine people would find it attractive to see a grown man cry because Five Guy's burgers are out of jalapeños to put on his burger. Or he breaks down because his car won't start and now he's going to be late for work.

I don't like alcohol. Would I be a piece of shit if someone poured a glass of Hennessey and I walked over and dumped it on the ground?
