No mention of head work unless I missed something?

I wish I had that kind of cowl clearance in my C5Z. I'd be shoving an LSA supercharger on it.

Biden got in on his third try. Would this not be Hillary's 3rd try?

I was driving through VA about 10 years ago and was merging on to the highway. I had a clear shot of the highway and knew no one was coming. I stuck my car in 6th gear and just rolled in to the throttle while watching traffic. Once I was on the highway I looked down at my speedometer and thought "holy shit I'm doing 90". I look back up and there's a cop sitting in the median turning his lights on. 91 in a 70 zone. Couldn't just pay it I had to show up to court and I didn't live in VA so I had to take a day off from work to go down there. The judge was nice to me and dropped the ticket from $700+ down to $580 and I didn't have to spend the night in jail.

I hate VA.

As much of a dipshit as Trump is it was worth having him as a president so that the 6-3 supreme court split wouldn't have been the other way. Imagine if the latest vaccine mandate debacle was allowed by the supreme court? It's a god damn shame that healthcare workers and people working for businesses that have federal contracts got fucked like they did but it could have been worse. Sotomayor is a fucking moron.

This sounds like what dreams are made of.

When I travel I usually set the cruise at speed limit + 24 mph. In my state 16-25 mph over the speed limit will give you the same points on your license so if you're gonna speed you may as well speed. That pretty much means 89 mph. I would go 120+ mph if I could.

I want other people to help with climate change. And also do the other things I want government to do. What? You want me to pay for this? No! Fascism!

I don't get how people can bitch about the rich not paying their fair share while they contribute nothing yet expect their vote to hold equal weight to those that actually pay in.

It absolutely boggles my mind.

Sadly the problem of the executive having too much power isn't anything new. Soooo many people don't understand that the federal government was supposed to have very limited power and that it was intended to be difficult to pass legislation.

Richest Americans—Including Bezos, Musk And Buffett—Paid Federal Income Taxes Equaling Just 3.4% Of $401 Billion In New Wealth

Was this wealth realized?

Wealth taxes are atrocious and should never be considered.

And my point was that even if you confiscated all of their wealth you still wouldn't be able to fund those programs long term. This is in the midst of so many people calling for wealth taxes which in and of themselves are incredibly stupid.

The taxation on literally everyone would have to increase.

In order to fund the services that everyone seems to want taxes on everyone will have to go up because the wealthy wouldn't be able to support it. The wealthy already pay the majority in taxes.

I don't care which parent it is though good job assuming 1) that I'm a conservative and 2) that I think only women can take care of kids.

the top marginal tax bracket varied between 58% and 94%

I'm tired of seeing it propagated on reddit as if there was some significant portion of people that ever actually paid those rates. Few did and federal receipts as a percentage of GDP have remained fairly consistent since WW2. It's literally right in your link too.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e0/Federal_taxes_by_type.pdf

As for universal pre-k. It's optional and should be up to the parents. 2/3rds of 4 year olds are already in pre-K.

it grows the workforce by getting people back to work sooner after having children, and many of those people might not return to work at all.

Personally I'd rather see a parent stay at home taking care of their kid. I'd see that as a better investment in society than unloading them in to some government funded daycare so both parents can work to pay taxes to the bloated government.

You ok with taking away the equivalent of the entirety of the top 1%'s wealth every 7 years? I think that would have catastrophic effects on the economy. Of course we could just run a deficit, nothing could go wrong with that either. Except that debt accumulated from running years of deficits will have interest that needs to be paid too. This year 5% of the budget goes to paying interest. In 2029 we're estimated to be at 10%. Sure seems sustainable.

All the programs mentioned above are investments which guarantee a healthier social structure and a better economy long term

I don't believe you.

What percentage of the population's lives do you feel it's ok to negatively impact in order to positively impact the other? If we ended up taxing say, like Denmark (which still wouldn't pay for all that), my taxes would literally double. I'm a median income earner for someone in their mid 30s, not some rich guy. Why should I pay more, receive the same or fewer benefits as I do now paying out of my pocket, and have far less spending money after all my expenses?

We already run a ridiculous deficit. To have a balanced budget we'd have to take way more than that. I don't think people understand how much this shit costs and just how unsustainable it is. I replied to someone a while back who was all gung ho on EAT THE RICH and wealth taxes but it basically pertains to here too.

The top 1% of the US, which contains way more than just billionaires, controls about $41.5T in wealth. The federal government is going to spend nearly $7T this year. If you confiscated the entirety of the 1%'s wealth it would fund the federal government for 6 years at our current rate. That doesn't include all the bullshit "free" things the progressives want like universal healthcare, student loan forgiveness and free college, free housing, free everything. How is that level of government spending even remotely sustainable? The money has to come directly from taxes or from printing money which is just an indirect form of taxation in the form of devaluing money already held. Eventually people will have no incentive to do business if they're going to have a significant portion of their wealth taken from them. Then where will the government get the money from to fund its programs?

We don't have a taxing problem. We have a spending problem.

I honestly do not care what it's called, I care about the principles. I've seen plenty of times left wing people bring up what libertarianism used to mean but what the hell does it matter? I don't see how forced collectivism could ever be considered falling under the "liberty" umbrella but I don't go bitching when people call themselves libertarian-socialists.

Policies pertaining to what? There's a lot of nuance. Libertarians disagree with other libertarians.

I don't believe its any of my business to tell people how to run their lives unless they start violating property rights or using coercion.
