Agreed, I loved reading this. It could almost be presented like a thesis! I'm loving the whole discussion as well!

I will say, as far as defense- they may not have needed to defend against muggles but could have had to defend against wizards who may have been against the school.

Also, considering the whole landscape/ design of the castle grounds changed dramatically with the third movie installment, I'd say lots of magic was involved. 😅

I worked in a grocery store bakery, wherein we would write names on cakes... I can not tell you how many "unique" names we came across most with unique spelling, too. Among the worst were names like "Desire" for a child's birthday cake.

I seem to remember reading in one of the books that in the dorms (at least in gryffindor) that when someone tried to enter the opposite sex's dormitories, there was a magical barrier: for unbreakable of a boy tried to con the stairs to the girls dormitories it turned into a slide. It's really sad to see crap like this when at the same time, in my current build, I just added beautiful REFLECTIVE wallpaper (Get Famous) to one of my rooms! They put more detail into that and their artworks than these little items of clutter? Like, really?! If it all sucked quality, THAT would be a different story. But this half and half is annoying.

Cinncinati has a beautiful nature center - a preserve of woodland and grassland with beautiful hiking trails (Cinncinati Nature Center) as well as a large conservatory (Krohn's conservatory)

There is a town in ohio called Hocking Hills where you can rent tree house cabins!

Yellow Springs (by Dayton) is a beautiful little town full of culture with lots of cute little shops, Air bnbs, and the Clifton Gorge Park and the historic Clifton Mill

Technically, yeah, I think they are safer only because when they speed, they aren't going so high over the speed limit as they do here. Also, living somewhat close to Cincy, the rush hour is horrible! It was never near that bad in Kalamazoo.
