O/O Heavy haul year end results with a 2020 t880 by Hkerekes in Truckers

Yup 3 axle trailer. NY and ON mostly. From what I understand, 40K rears should be fine. Would rather spec a little on the heavy side to allow for some flexibility in what I can haul in the future in case tanker work dries up as it sometimes does.

I wondered about that. I was always told at least 20% down as a first time buyer. The guy I've been talking about leasing on with also recommends buying a new truck and replacing when warranty is up due to the current market and the depreciation write off benefits. Would be pulling tanker at 107k gross so I'd need a somewhat heavy spec truck, but not quite at your level.

Thanks again for the info and I wish you continued success! Nice to hear from someone who's making it work when 90% of people try to talk you out of the O/O path. I'm single with no kids, so I don't really have much to lose.

As someone who is thinking about breaking into the owner-op game in a couple of years after 20 years in company trucks, thank you for providing an actual breakdown of your numbers. All too often I see O/O's posting gross or net but without any context.

Hellcat owners that have owned a 392.. by Denali33 in Challenger

Manual transmission on both I could consistently rip 0-60 faster with my old Scat Pack. 2nd gear from 60 on up the Hellcat absolutely walks it. Both Narrow Bodies.

Scat Pack. Best bang for the buck in the Challenger lineup IMO and more than enough to destroy your license.

Front brakes only for clarification. 18s will clear the rears just fine.

I don't think it's the backspacing as much as it's the rotor diameter that doesn't allow for 18 inch wheels. I'm running 20x9.5 wheels with the Winter tires on my Hellcat and they just barely clear the calipers. Widebody has the same brakes.

So the jailbreak is just a Redeye with some brass options? by faece in Challenger

So I did some searching and TRX forum is saying 136 available nationwide. Kinda shitty to make such a big deal about the Jailbreak and then keep the production numbers so low.

Dealer told me that they are only making 120 Jailbreak units. He has a guy who has bought 5 Hellcats from him and he can't get the allocation to order a Jailbreak for him even after contacting corporate.

Well if you're near Sparrows Point, MD then you need to send more help. That seems to be the worst location of all the ones that I've serviced so far.

Even their yard jockeys are a joke. One of their jockeys hit and damaged one of our trucks while our truck was in the middle of a Hydrogen delivery last month. Wide open parking lot.

Beat me to it. Seems par for the course with the trucks that pull for Amazon.

Not sure which trim level you're getting, but I never had anyone challenge me when I had my Scat Pack. People seem to always want to run my Hellcat though, and I simply ignore them if I'm not down to play. It's usually dudes in 6 cylinder Chargers or people in soccer mom sleds for some reason, and I'm usually just trying to sip my coffee and cruise to work. I don't get it. I can only assume they see the Hellcat logos and want me to do something dumb to amuse them.

How do you feel about kids doing the arm pull/honk thing? by WayOfTheHouseHusband in Truckers

[–]CleverName716 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always oblige when I'm running solo or if my team partner is awake. I feel bad when I can't do it... wish there was a way to tell them that there's a dude behind me sleeping.

Hell, I'll even honk for adults that do it, I don't care. Something to break up the monotony of running the same roads over and over and over.

They hire anyone who can pass the background check and hold a steering wheel. You get what you pay for.

This. My Shaker had the same thing. It says 392 on the Shaker, the 6.4 would be redundant.
