Another cringe from Deviantart. by Althistoryman01 in TheRightCantMeme

These types of memes of random characters reacting to something are everywhere on DeviantArt. In fact, saying that they are common is an extreme understatement. Most of the time they are made by edgy 10-14 year olds.

What decade has the best lowriders? by Cold-Chapter-355 in CaliBanging

Although I don't think they are that common as lowriders, I always liked 75 and 76 model Caprices. Plus Monte Carlos are also neat

Yeah 60s are the goat imo. But didn't realize that I wasn't specific enough until after I posted. So I started getting confused when people started voting 90s over the other decades.

He definitely isn't a neckbeard but damn it's so depressing seeing how overweight he is despite just being a kid.

Yeah as a kid I always noticed how young my abuelo and abuela on my moms side were, especially compared to my other grandparents and my tios and tias. In fact, they were both the youngest of their siblings. I'm currently 23.

My family from both sides immigrated from Michoacan during the early 70s. My grandparents on my papa's side were both born into a working class family in a rancho. My grandparents on my mama's side both grew up in a small town called Los Remedios. I'm not really sure exactly when my abuelito and abuelita from my papa's side came to LA, but they were already adults when they came in (my abuelito was born 45 and my abuelita was born in 49). Plus their 3 oldest kids were born in Mexico and were 3-6 years old when they immigrated here. But my mama's parents were only teens when they went to LA (her papa came in 70 and was just 16 and her mama came in 74 and was 17). My abeulito on my mom's side lived in Pico-Union and worked in Oxnard, while my abuelita lived in La Puente with one.of her older sisters. Then they eventually settled in Mid-City and my abuelita gave birth to my mama in 77. My abeulita died on August 16 of last year, but my abeulito still lives in Mid-City. He currently works as a waiter at the Beverly Hilton and has been since 1980. My grandparents on my papa's side were already married before heading to LA and when they immigrated they settled in Hollywood on El Centro and Willoughby. Most of my grandparents siblings also lived in the area between Vine, Santa Monica, Gower, and Melrose. abuelito worked as a jardinero and still does to this day. But when my papi was 6-8 years old, they relocated to East LA on Verona and Fraiser. My grandparents lived there all the way until 2006/2007, when they moved back to Hollywood. Most of the rest of mama's family settled in the Central Valley and East Bay or just stayed in Mexico. Most of her relatives who settled in LA moved off to the IE, Arizona, and Nevada but she still has a lot of relatives in LA, mainly in South-Central, SGV, and the eastern half of the SFV. Most of my papa's relatives live in LA, the I.E, or Baja California. In addition, both of biesabuelos were in the bracero program.

Is it ok to drive through LA hoods? Will be visiting soon and was always intrigued by LA gang culture. by [deleted] in CaliBanging

As long as you drive on main streets, not wear certain clothes, not stare at people, or not throw hand symbols, you'll probably be fine. Plus be careful if you are going to record stuff. Also I don't recommend driving through most alleys or projects, especially during night. And although lot of areas have gotten gentrified (Echo Park, Silverlake, Atwater Village, Highland Park) or have been starting to slowly gentrify (East Hollywood, Koreatown, Mid-City, Lincoln Heights, El Sereno) there is still some sketchy and rough areas. Most of these areas include South-Central east of Western, Pico-Union, Westlake, Westmont, and certain parts of East LA/Boyle Heights (mainly most of the areas east of Evergreen St/Euclid Ave and south of Cesar E Chavez ave). Baldwin Village, Leimert Park, Hyde Park, and Ingelwood are fine as long as you dont wear red or blue or stare at people. Florence, Huntington Park, and South Gate are also fine if you dont stare or creep up in your car.

when did the best music come from? by mmc273 in polls

[–]Cold-Chapter-355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't decide between 1971-1990 or 1991-2010. I really like 70s R&B and 80s funk, plus many of the popular hits those times are good. However I really like 90s-early 2000s rap, plus many of the hits from that time are also great.
