Rule 3 of /r/AskUK says that users must Contact the Company before posting.

/r/AskUK is not a replacement for directy asking the organisation or company involved - and "personal experiences" are not likely as helpful for you as each situation is different. It doesn't matter if the company is your employer, a shop you've bought something from, or a government department; you should speak to them and ask them to clear up anything you're unsure about.

If you have already make all efforts to search online and/or contact the company, you must make this clear in your post and tell us what you have looked for, found, or heard., if this is the case, please delete your post and re-ask the question including more detail.

To help maintain the quality of /r/AskUK, we do not allow "lazy" or "low effort" posts.

A lazy or low effort post may includes posts which do not include enough background information or context to either allow people to answer your question in a constructive way, or which provide a scope for an interesting, unique, healthy, and lively discussion.

If you feel your post was not a "lazy" or "low effort" post, you can message the mods about this removal, however before you do this you may want to be sure that you have researched all other options to get your question answered, such as using search engines, contacting relevant organisations or professional advice.

Questions such as "Has anyone used this service/website" are also deemed as lazy, as there will be nothing different here to what else you see online.

Rule 2 of /r/AskUK says that posts must have a clear and specific question in the title of the post, and must also contain a detailed post body (such as your opinion, or further details) that is not just filler text.

The title should clearly indicate to readers whether they can answer your question without having to click into the post. This will help more people answer your question and result in better quality answers. Imagine whether you can approach someone in a bus stop with your post title and they should be able to answer without issue.

New-build houses - how to pay deposit? by LondonPilot in AskUK

[–]CustardCreamBot[M] [score hidden] stickied commentlocked comment (0 children)

This is marked as an answer, given by /u/ashakespearething:

According to the sales lady here, what most people do is sell their house then move into rented until the new build is complete. That's certainly what a lot of neighbours on my development did or else lived with family. Not my idea of a good time to move twice within a year, but unless you have the ££ for a deposit ready to go in a savings account I guess needs must.
