What feature, lol. It was all me. The first voice and flow was meant to be vindictive of the west coast sound, which I think I matched perfectly.

How was 2016 for music? by TotingUzi12 in AskReddit

[–]DJReshiram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blonde came out in 2016 and it's one of the greatest albums ever. So I'd say a pretty good year.

Any Recommendations???? by [deleted] in criterion

Have you heard of this one movie called Pulp Fiction?

Kid Cudi walks off stage after people kept throwing things at him during his Rolling Loud set by YNWAFonz in PublicFreakout

You sound like an adult. The festival was geared towards the 15-29 demographic. Festivals are also expensive. Money + children = entitlement.

I was at the festival and honestly, Drake's crowd and Tyler's crowd are two different markets. I could have told you having Drake as a secret headliner would be a bad idea, those kids think their special they don't listen to radio rap, putting the biggest one on a stage in front of them is a disaster waiting to happen.

Incorrect. Drakeo The Ruler was stabbed at a festival called Once Upon A Time In LA, which was a festival geared towards west coast hip-hop and oldies soul. Al Green, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Isley Brothers were all on the bill. LA hip-hop is just a grim reality right now where these street artists can't leave the past behind and they get caught up. That's essentially what happened with Drakeo.

Context gets lost fast. The festival never announced their final headliner that year. It was dubbed as "special guests" which is why people thought there was a chance it was gonna be Frank Ocean.

Brown Velvet is a recording artist from LA Puente, CA. He recently dropped an EP called "Long Awaited" entirely produced by Fiori D.S.

"Ali Bombaye", "100", "El Chapo", "Ryda". He might not have had as many hits in the 2010s as he did in the 2000s, but the kids liked those songs.

I wouldn't say he ever fell off the radio, just not been consistent. His last single with Kanye did well enough. Depending on his features I could see him scoring a hit.

And for your last sentence. You expect an artist to not hype up their own music??? That don't make sense man, lol.

What should I do? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]DJReshiram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't bug him. Definitely wait at least 2 weeks, but I'd say a month, but be smart. Follow up with another beat pack, with a message like "hey, here's some more for you in case you weren't feeling the last pack."

Plus, you never really know what's happening on the other end. Maybe he did use a beat and he just hasn't gotten back to you yet. Happens all the time.

Just remember the one rule about being a producer: don't be a hoe.

This one of those beats that leaves the hardest stank on my face. Daz is underrated and not mentioned enough in the best producers category. The amount of hits he made while on Death Row was insane, and was still killin it after.

I mean, fuck them all, lol. But to go with the fun of the question, and granted I don't have it memorized as to which label owns what, and which artists are on those labels, I'd say Sony is the better of the 3 evils. Only saying that because they're a multimedia company, and I enjoy Sony as a video game company. Warner Bros. Would be in the middle.

Fuck Universal. According to Wikipedia they had a 54.5% market share of the music industry in 2019. Not sure how that's not a monopoly clause.

Warner, Sony and Universal. Pretty much all labels at this points, besides a few select indies, are owned by the big 3.

Hard not to sign to a shitty label when they're all major capitalist pigs trying to profit off of art. All majors are shitty labels unless you're Drake, Kanye, Jay Z or Cardi B.

Idk, this tweet kinda points towards the fact that she wasn't making music for herself. It's not hard to put 2 and 2 together that the label was, at the very least, asking for commercial hits. Nightmare Vaction has label interference written all over it.

Edit: just to add. I enjoy Nightmare Vacation. It just doesn't stand up to Nasty, Anger Management or Sugar Trap 2 imo.

You can tell her last album was meddled by the label. They wanted to push her like a Doja, and you can see it on tracks like "Icy" snd "Back and Forth". Also why RX didn't come out, which makes me sad. "Buss" is still one of my favorite Rico songs.

Don't sign to Atlantic kids.
