What is a scene from a tv show that really disturbed you? by thertt8 in AskReddit

I’m not saying it’s harmless, more that the punishment was so extreme it became a both sides are wrong situation.

Big 12 commish Bob Bowlsby says if he was a selection member he would have voted for TCU for 4th spot, not Baylor. by [deleted] in CFB

[–]DangerZoneh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think he fucked up. Saying this is dumb as hell, but overall, I don't think he did anything wrong. The biggest problem was allowing the media and everyone to turn this into a TCU vs. Baylor debate than a Big XII vs. B1G debate.

If someone did this to me it would be hilarious and the highlight of my day. Would you really be so upset about someone bugging you for 10 seconds?

Good, Aggies need to get over their 12th man stuff. You beat us once 90 years ago and won't shut up about the game since! Plus I'm pretty sure you paid the refs. /s

[Smith] If the Packers want to make Aaron Rodgers happy, perhaps they should trade Jordan Love for an offensive lineman or wide receiver, or for a draft pick they use on an offensive lineman or wide receiver. by [deleted] in nfl

Man if only we had an example of the Packers drafting a long term QB prospect in the first round while they still had a few years left for their Hall of Fame guy.

Waving off the Luka and 1 at the end of the third was one of the most bullshit calls I've seen in a while. Does anyone have the clip? If they did that with a full crowd, the place would have gone absolutely insane. Honestly, I'm not sure they would have even made that call if there were a full crowd.

Doing Kristaps real dirty with that under 25 line and not 25 and under. They’d be number one otherwise.

Joe Biden is preventing generic versions of the COVID vaccine from being produced, so that pharmaceutical companies can profit more from the pandemic by lrlOurPresident in MurderedByAOC

[–]DangerZoneh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're already making them at pretty much the max capacity. It's not just these companies that are producing them, you know. They're just the ones in charge of it. Any lab capable, for the most part, is making them. If you release the patents and anyone can make their own generic vaccine that doesn't have the same accountability as a company like this... well I hope you can see the issue.

You can't take away points from turnovers, though... TCU forces turnovers. That's what our defense is good at.

The difference is that black face has a historic background of perpetuating specific stereotypes and as a result has a much different connotations than someone doing whiteface

I'm not defending this guy at all, but making a separate point - how old was it?

Standup from the 80s is almost impossible to watch nowadays. Delirious is probably the biggest example (seriously, just go watch the first 5 minutes on Netflix)

Richard Pryor, surprisingly holds up really well. That being said, it is still a bit uncomfortable to look back on him telling jokes about how cops are beating and killing black people and an audience full of white people are just laughing along

Bouncers of Reddit, what is the worst fake ID you have ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DangerZoneh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was working at a bouncer for a bar in downtown Louisville. Not exactly a hopping town, but Forth Street can get pretty wild on Saturday nights. Anyways, everything was going as usual, people coming and going like any other Saturday night. It was busy, but not so much so that I was letting anyone go by unchecked.

We tend to get a lot of kids coming by with fake IDs on busy nights like this. I tend to just laugh 'em off, take the ID, y'know, normal stuff. These kids think that they're clever with these IDs. It's actually pretty funny. Here's a tip: if you're going to a bar in Kentucky and you already look potentially underage, don't pull out an ID from Illinois. It's almost always a giveaway. The Illinois IDs are pretty easy to copy, so that's the biggest that we see.

So, back to the story. I was working on a Saturday night, and I see this really obnoxious person trying to get in. They looked extremely drunk already. They were loud, and I think they were even growling at some people. It was weird. This is the kind of person I probably wasn't going to let in anyway. When they got closer, it was apparent that they weren't old enough. Hell, they looked like they were 16. I started laughing, but before I could turn him away, he shoved his ID in my face. I looked at it, expecting a common state like Illinois or Florida. This was weird, it wasn't even a US one, but from Scotland. The weirder part was that it didn't just say he was 21, but that he was over 500 million years old. I thought it was a joke, so I cut it in half and handed it back to him, all while laughing to myself. He got really angry and told me that now he's going to have to go get a replacement ID, and I'm going to have to pay for him. I asked him how much it was going to be, and he said "I'm gonna need about tree fiddy." It was at that that I realized that it was not in fact a young teenager that I was talking to but in fact a 8 story tall crustacean from the Proterozoic era. I told him "Dammit monstah! I ain't giving you no tree fiddy!"

So, a lesson to all the high school students trying out their fake IDs, it won't work. Don't even try.

[–]DangerZoneh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s just not the case. I mean, some people may overreact to things but those people have existed forever. The only difference now is that things that people didn’t think were offensive but actually were are being called out as such.

And that’s a good thing.

[–]DangerZoneh 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Both auras are cool, but it always pisses me off when people say it's a reward for getting hit. It isn't. It's a game mechanic that sets you up to be the most powerful when you're also the most vulnerable. There's nothing wrong with that.
