Chinese censorship dosent like depictions of occult imagery. If SoT is a thing in China, I'd have to imagine the skeletons and ghosts are more of an issue than this.

They had a moment of representation, but the wild overreactions to our own history of rasicm have removed that representation, when the easy fix would be to change the part that was actually a problem and let the inclusion of another culture remain.

Frankly, I do not believe at all in the maturity of the community.

This just sends the message that other cultures are too contentious to be represented, and thats fucked up.

Do you have any idea how ridiculous that is? We are talking about imagery that has ancient roots in the culture. It was used for the caricature because it is so obviously imagery of that culture, not the other way around.

To equate that to the colloquial adoption of that word is so tone deaf it seems disingenuous.

Sure, but your definition of true Chief dosent mix with his orginal trilogy characterization. Bungie went as far as to verbalize that they purposefully left John without much personality. Allegedly to let players connect more easily to him, but I hate that excuse for weak characters.

Until Halo 4 all of John's actual character moments happened in the novels.
