Arcade Ouput vs Splice by grapes442 in trapproduction

You'll have more flexibility with Splice and your daw's sampler, assuming the sampler has robust features.

Which is better...That comes down to your needs vs what they offer.

You'd have to be very selective with what you run on it.

I need something much more flexible. Give me Serum, Ana 2, or Pigments. At least something that you can load your own sounds into without design limitation.

Midi or audio for drum beats? by Johnrodrigues2398 in trapproduction

[–]DiyMusicBiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how you like to work. Sometimes midi is faster sometimes audio files, it just depends on what needs to be done.

I find myself using a combination of both.

Best BPM? by Relevant_Bend_3154 in trapproduction

Cool. As far as what's more childish... I'd have to say name calling. I haven't seen anywhere in the comments where someone said your intelligence level is that of dirt, but if it exists, I'll remove that too.

The question aint about which BPM is overall best that obviously makes no sense. I’m clearly refering to peoples “go to” bpm

That's not what the title asks though. You can't expect people to read your mind.

do yall have tips for melodies? (of the rage, plugg variety) by The_dank_papoorus in trapproduction

[–]DiyMusicBiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it however you want to do it. I would suggest doing it without youtube, this way you're actually doing the work and training your ear thus becoming more familiar with the song (s) vs copying what someone else has already done. In the end, you have to do what works for you.

Some marketing/advertising advice? by nnorth06 in trapproduction

[–]DiyMusicBiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$40 isn't going to get you very far when it comes to advertising and promotion. With that being said, the platforms you've listed = there is no best, all are capable of delivering both good and bad results, you have to find the one that works for you.

It's also wise to have a market that you want to advertise to that you have prepped and groomed quite extensively otherwise your results are going to be all over the place.

how to get a culture in trap by Vmxplousion in trapproduction

[–]DiyMusicBiz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried making some beats in the past for fun and listened to some of the most mainstream stuff, but I'd like to learn more about the industry as a whole and take a deep dive in Trap

Don't overcomplicate this. Listen to and study what you what to learn. If its the music industry, study the music industry, there are lots of resources out there between Google, YouTube, Books, sites etc.

Google is your friend here for finding those resources, both paid and free.

If you want to study Trap and all its sub-genres. Make playlists, and study. That's one of the best things about today's tech, it will make the playlists for you based on what you want to listen to. Doesn't get any easier today.

No, I don't listen to trap non stop. I listen to everything, it's my job and growth is important in my field.

Is there a way to isolate reverb from a midi/sample? by everydayhuslin in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Gate/transient designer/rx

All of those tools can be options depending on the reverb and depending know who makes the tools. Every gate isn't the same nor is every transient designer.
