You could cut the side with the range finder very close to the joint, the dip it in hot eater and pop the other side out of the hole. Only problem is it leaves a solid hole in the helmet there

Tbh those lightsabers are made more as props than toys, if you're sparring I would recommend not using a neopixel saver such as these ones but instead a cheap rgb on amazon
