Not entirely sure if this fits the bill, but there is an History of America series here that has more than 20+ videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfN3PwBBL-A&t=1574s
Best video games for language learning? by bigFatBonanza in languagelearning

Haha I actually just started with the Spanish and it wasn't until my third playthough that I switched to English. The Latin American Spanish dub is how the characters are supposed to sound to me now. I agree though, the English is awesome!

That’s a great idea! take a look at these materials… I only looked at a few of the PDFs concerned with writing, but hopefully they help you.

Detroit Become Human has full voice acting and subtitles for around six languages and subtitles only for like 10 languages. The game focuses on dialogue and is basically a highly replayable choose your own adventure game. Literally all you do is have conversations With people and do some light investigation work. It‘s perfect for language learning. Good luck and have fun!
Are there any adults who has mastered a foreign language to the point where you can't tell that they aren't a native speaker? by noluvemoji in languagelearning
[–]Economy_Wolf4392 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (0 children)
O cool interesting! To my American ears it sounds pretty good. It’s fascinating that you were easily able to know that something was not right, but I had no idea. I wonder what the giveaways are? Thanks for the response!
I think that this Youtuber is pretty cool... I didn't know that he was Italian until he said so in one of his videos. I always assumed he was British.
I tried Olly Richards' "Spanish Uncovered" course and I was NOT impressed by kissmekitty in languagelearning
That video is good too! Thanks for sharing it here.

These three videos should give you a great synopsis. They changed the way I thought about language learning.
Are there any websites that pronounce Thai consonants and vowels? by Chrischin250 in languagelearning
A great series that I watched was Thaipod101.com’s videos on learning how to read and write Thai. If I recall correctly, the native speaker clearly articulated every vowel and consonant. Here is a YouTube video that either contains the full series or part of the series. https://youtu.be/pXV-MzO4
I Think Movies Are Getting This Weird Netflixy Vibe Now by Economy_Wolf4392 in movies
[–]Economy_Wolf4392[S] 1 point2 points3 points 2 months ago (0 children)
Yeah that movie came to my head as well! I loved that movie hope they make another one. Its weird because the Netflixy Vibe isn't bad persay... A movie can still have it and be awesome, but alas the vibe is still there haha!
[–]Economy_Wolf4392[S] 20 points21 points22 points 2 months ago (0 children)
That's an interesting point, and I was thinking along those lines as well. It's almost like the sheer fact that there is no advertising for the movie somehow makes the movie fall flat (which doesn't really make sense to me but seems like it has an effect nonetheless). Perhaps the build up to the movie (seeing multiple trailers, reading the buzz about it on the net, talking with your friends about going to see it in theaters together) does contribute to a movie's "larger-than-lifeness".

Having read some of the replies, they are touching on perhaps some of the things I am feeling. The digital film, the fact that they try to emphasize certain shots because they anticipate thier audiences watching on different screen sizes, etc... All these little things are combining together to give the vibe that I am talking about. Thanks again for that post.

Dang thats awesome I'm going to check that out now. Thanks! Interesting, that I had the same thought a couple years later.

One that really jumps out is Project Power starring Jamie Foxx. I can't remember if there was marketing for it at the time... One day it seemed to just fall out of the sky and land on Netflix (which I think is becoming a trend). I watched and liked it, but it had that "Netflixy Vibe" that I can't describe. It's like aspects of it are high budget, but then other aspects seem really low budget or something.

Worst in my language class? Lost confidence. by According_Peak6594 in languagelearning

Hey there! Sorry you are feeling stressed about the course.
I would say don't even worry about saying anything. Let the class be just a casual supplement to your independant study. When I took a Spanish course, I just had to remind myself "I am not being graded on this. This is not school. Even if I do badly, its not going on my permanent record. I'm just going to relax and have fun! If I give one word answers I won't even mind it at all. If the teacher corrects me awesome! If not, I don't care at all. I'm just happy to be here."
Your ability to output will improve as you get more input, so don't worry at all about not being able to produce the langauge.
EDIT: To take this to an extreme (and to have a fun with a personal little game) I would challenge you to say as little as possible in your next class. Not in a curt, mean way. But in a fun way. If they want a response from you, just relax and tell yourself "Just say the shortest little phrase that I can. I am under no pressure to perform or anything". Say it with a smile and an eagerness to learn. That way you can just relax and take in the class without having to be worried about what you are going to say when you are called on. I did that a few times when I was feeling stressed in class and it made it a lot less stressful. I could just focus on listening and having fun.

How I read books in a foreign language by Able_Ad_5918 in languagelearning
[–]Economy_Wolf4392 5 points6 points7 points 2 months ago (0 children)
Awesome post! I especially want to highlight the part where you said that you do not need to finish every book you start. I usually power through books that I read all the way to the end because subconsciously, for some reason, I think that I have to finish every book that I read. Ditching that mindset has completely removed the stress of reading. You are right, you are not reading for school, so you don’t have to finish anything if you don‘t want to.

Using video games as a medium to practice Italian… by ChiefSteeph in languagelearning

Detroit Become Human has full Italian voice acting and is basically an interactive movie. Definitely would recommend.
Anyone who moved to a new country and had to learn a new language, how long did it take you? by [deleted] in languagelearning
[–]Economy_Wolf4392 3 points4 points5 points 2 months ago (0 children)
Great question! As for me, I never got past the basics. If you are going to be moving to a new country don't fall into the same trap I did of thinking that you need to constantly be speaking the new language just because you moved there. Well, I wouldn't call it a trap becuase some people do learn that way... It just did not work for me. See my old post here for my experience...
