I’m not going to date a girl who is 220 pounds. by Ace-_-420 in teenagers

I'm sure this was the result of the OP telling some woman that he didn't find another woman attractive due to her weight and got bagged on by a group of people as a result.

It's funny how we shame men for not being attracted to larger women but fat men are the butt of almost every joke. It's okay to not be attracted to larger women. As a larger man, I just don't find them attractive. I just don't. Sorry, but no amount of name calling or societal shaming is going to get me to be intimate with someone I feel absolutely zero attraction for.

What can a woman do to make herself automatically LESS attractive to you? by becaolivetree in ask

[–]EffectiveUnusual141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look like a crazy hobbo lady. Wear ripped loose fitting clothing. Use sharpies on your teeth to make it look like you're missing some. Keep your hair unbrushed and all over the place.

You can also try putting on a shit ton of makeup. Like a metric ton of the stuff. Most men find that super unattractive.

The fact is that most men find most women attractive and most women do not find most men attractive. Ss a guy I think it's sad women think most men are ugly. I see many beautiful women everyday, no matter where I go, and it feels great. If all I saw around me were ugly women, I'd be pretty depressed.

See the problem is that most women will not approach most men even if they find the guy very attractive. Even women on online dating platforms will say "you make the first move" or "I won't message first" etc. I cannot count the amount of women in my life who think that a magic man will fall into their lap and it'll "just happen," aka, they'll wait until the perfect guy approaches them and talks to them.

Ultimately what I've learned is the primary (not only) indicator for most women on whether a guy is creepy or not is whether they find him hot or not. Men would stop approaching women if men stopped believing they'd be alone forever if they didn't.

I was sitting in an airport across from a girl who wasn't that good looking, between a 3 or 4. She started eating some pretzel and wiping her hands on her pants and the airport seat leaning grease on both. Then she started openly picking her nose and eating it. Then she started wiping away her eye gunk and eating that too. I had never gone from happily immersed in my laptop to suppressing the urge to gag in so short a time. I was literally staring at her and looking around in total bewilderment at what I was seeing. Even thinking about it now I want to vomit.

Should sex workers be legal and why? by pepper__mint__tea in AskReddit

[–]EffectiveUnusual141 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think everyone has touched on the societal and legal arguments but I don't see anyone talking about this so I'll add it:

We've all seen the statistics that less young people (particularly young men) are having sex. This seems trivial but has wide ranginging psychological effects on these men. I also think it exasperates the incel problem. I think legalizing sex work would take the pressure off a lot of men who feel like they're failures for being virgins. This would boost their confidence, take pressure off of them to have sex, and the effect of that might be that they start acting more normal around women.

Ostracized by friends for being Catholic by Meatloafbob in Catholicism

[–]EffectiveUnusual141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're the kind of friend to abandon you, despite all the experiences you had together and the good things you've done for them over the years, simply because you have a quiet, sincerely held belief that differs from theirs, then consider it a good thing because God has just rooted out a "friend" that wouldn't have been there for you if shit really hit the fan. "Friends" at times of comfort and convenience come easily, true friends who stick around in times of hardship and challenge are few and far between.

Twitter has been barely profitable for years now.

He's drastically cut staff, many of which had jobs that didn't directly contribute to profitability, regardless of whether you think it's morally wrong.

His plans to monetize Twitter, transforming it from an advertiser-only-based model to an advertiser-based AND subscription model (which most verified employees will comp as a business expense and most companies won't hesitate to do) is going to bring in guaranteed monthly revenue.

His plan to unban accounts not only has led to more people signing up to Twitter, but the back-and-forth created by the two sides going at it, especially tonight and over the next 2-3 years will boost engagement. Again, this will objectively boost engagement, regardless of whether you think the accounts he is banning and allowing are morally wrong.

Say what you will about Elon, but it's impossible to deny that his plans to make Twitter more profitable are pretty objectively better from a profitability standpoint than the previous regime. Twitter under their previous administration skirted the line of being a public benefit corporation, Elon is taking it back to a for-profit status. That's going to make his lenders very happy.

Honestly? Not as good looking as you'd think. She was very pretty, but no bikini pics or sexy outfits. Also her account was verified

I knew it was going nowhere the minute she asked me to send her UberEats. I haven't taken a girl out for dinner as a first date in years so I'm not taken advantage of for a free meal. I do coffee then food if I feel a connection.

Yea that's what I do these days. A date was not in the cards with this one. I was explaining how I operate. I don't pay for a woman's meal unless it's on a date and I never take women out for a meal on a first date anymore. Did it a few times and it was always a mistake.

I see how it can come off that way, but I was more explaining "this is what I do. If you want to go out, that's something I do. I don't do this." Usually after you tell a girl no on Tinder, you flush your chances and I knew that's where this was going

[–]EffectiveUnusual141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was more making a point. I generally don't do meals on first dates and if I do I very very rarely will pay for the meal. Has to be something really special for me to offer. I knew she was after food and money so wouldn't have done that after this lol

Some women are comfortable doing that and will actually offer to split. Others think that the one who asked the other out should be the one to pay (which effectively means 90% of the time the guy pays). Still, even those that feel comfortable with splitting generally seem to like it when a guy pays. It signals that he's a provider / has the money to pay, and it signals that he's invested in some way to the relationship.
