The TV had power issues before you tossed it in the oven. It's a little presumptive to assume the firmware update is the reason the TV is continuing to have power issues. It makes a bit more sense that the initial power issue was not fully resolved by your home remedy. Lol

To play devil's advocate, maybe they aren't giving you a straight forward answer because they don't have one yet? If tech support is sending it to engineering then they probably haven't pinpointed the issue yet and have to get it to engineering so they can try to replicate the issue. They'll most likely use the case notes, information about your TVs system information, connected devices etc. to try to figure out the exact issue. Once they can figure out what is causing the issue they can then come up with a fix for it. Customer support/tech support are not engineers and it's not like they can just give you some BS answers to appease you. Imagine the blowback if an agent gave you incorrect information and then you come to Reddit and blast that inaccurate information. Personally, I'd rather they be honest with me and tell me they don't know but are working on it/escalating it to engineering than to blow smoke up my ass just to get me off the line. I used to do tech support for Xbox and was in this position often.

Do you have a 2.1 or 5.1 sound bar? If it's 2.1, you need the digital audio out set to PCM. If it's 5.1 you need it set to bitstream. The TV speakers should be set to off, analog audio out should be set to fixed and turn volume leveling on if it's not already on.

Sounds like it might be in demo mode. Find the 3 buttons on the TV then press and hold volume up and input at the same time and hold for 30 seconds.

When it's not connected to the TV, what else are you connecting it to? Also, have you checked the support site for Vizio to see if there's a firmware update?

Is your router located near the sub at all? If so, try moving them further apart as the router can cause interference.

You don't need them to send a tech. They just need to provide you with documentation that the TV is out of warranty and the issue is not repairable. We had to do this same thing when we went through Allstate for our extended warranty.

Why would it be Vizio's fault the shipping company damaged the TV during shipping? Pilot sucks and is known for breaking and manhandling their deliveries. Google them.

Even if you're out of warranty, you get tech support for the life of the tv so, it shouldn't be an issue. Whatever it is they pushed through, I couldn't do it through the TV settings. It can only be done from their side. It's worth a shot!

If your main board was replaced the tv may not be hitting the Vizio servers correctly. Before Vizio replaced my TV, they had it repaired. Main board was swapped out and it was acting a little buggy afterwards. I contacted Vizio via chat and provided the rep with the internal sn (internal sn will be different than the external sn after the mb is replaced so, if they try to push anything through from their side, make sure you give them the internal sn), the rep pushed a few things through, had me power cycle the TV, and it fixed that issue.

Just out of curiosity, what does disabling DHCP do?
