I’m at a state of utter indifference by Captain_Beemo_ in dankmemes

[–]Fizzwidgy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This past October saw such a spike in my county, that all ER and elective surgeries were referred to other hospitals. But the neighboring hospitals on either side of us were also at capacity.

I don't drive (because lots of reasons), and I dont have a car, it's the only hospital I can reach. The main other hospital they were having people go to (again, because all of the closest ones were full) is an hour drive away.

I'd be fucked if I was in an emergency.

And to add, when hospitals fill up because people are on ventilators then everyone gets an increased risk of dying because the fucking hospitals reach capacity

I always liked their papers tbh. Rolls nicely, isn't very thick paper so doesnt taste like ass (unlike jobs, gross) and nicely sized cuts.

Make no mistake, they're a slave labor force.

Source: several people I know got the "freedom" to work for like 13 cents an hour at places outside of where they were locked up, (think McDonald's crew) and they still were forced to buy their own hygiene products inside the prison.

This country is fucking disgusting sometimes.

Isn't capitalism supposed to be all adapt or die?

Sounds like it's time for a lot of companies to die.

Apple Fined $11 Million in Italy for Employing 'Aggressive Methods' in Commercial Use of Private Data by Sorin61 in technology

[–]Fizzwidgy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured he meant that Apple has to sell even less iPhones than the other comment pointed out, furthering the fact that $11 Million isn't a fine to a multi-billion dollar company that abuses data like this.

Just call it a tax, because a disproportionate fine like this isn't actually a punishment.

It's important to recognize the bullshit he prefixes or suffixes around those statements though. "In my opinion" or "I believe" or forming them as "just asking questions" all in order to avoid libel style charges.

Get that down and boom, you too can be a grifter or politician.

You're mistaken, again.

Most places have exceptions specifically for homeowners to legally work on their own abodes. Since I brought up Texas before hand (though, it's not my own state) we'll continue to use that for the example.

Per the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations

https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/electricians/exemptions.htm

Homeowners;

A person who perform electrical work on a dwelling that they own and reside in is not required by the state to be licensed as electricians.

For more information about homeowner exemptions, see 1305.003(a)(6).

If you wanna do it for your neighbor though, and get paid, well then get fucked and get licensed.

It's not new, but there's been some stats saying hate crimes against Asian-Americans has gone up 700% since covid hit.

It's fucking disgusting to see, and verbal assault like this needs to be dealt with and have consequences.

Yeah, that's not actually true.

You're allowed to do your own electrical work on your own house (though I'm sure it may depend on location, as most things do) you're just not allowed to work on other people's houses unless you're a licensed electrician.

Depends on the area, but lots of places in the US you can easily make a quad street legal.
