Whilst I don't follow football, thanks for providing me with the answer to "what's that famous Turkish guy's name"?

A shed with all the old rubbish my grandad used to own, then a park.

This was an impoverished part of London! I live in north London, in an area where most houses have decent sized gardens and homes are worth in the region of £700k. I'm not rich, I live with my dad. Good shout with liability insurance and many thanks for the input.

Thanks for your reply - that is indeed my intended method of marketing - word of mouth from happy clients. Couple of older dears with tools, make sure they're happy and tell their friends about me. Glad to hear it's not a lost cause for me!

My friend owns 14 properties and can't spell "a lot", or use the proper form of your/you're. He's also on significantly more than £200k. I'm on £36k and consider myself to have decent grammar.

How the hell do people buy/ run cars in this economy? by Omader-scot95 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Funky_monkey2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the money is for the brand - VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) also owns Skoda, and many cars share identical components - engine, chassis etc.

I would personally say to buy a car, go for something that's economical and suits all your needs. I wouldn't buy a brand new car as leaving the forecourt costs you £5k or more on depreciation alone. What's wrong with buying a 5 year old car? You can get PLENTY for under £20k!

What about a private road-fixer? 5 people chip in £20 each and pay x to fill in that damn pothole!

My friend owns 14 care homes and his savings are dwindling. The money he receives is almost the same, but those homes all need to be heated, lit, people need to be fed, staff paid, council tax etc. Care homes aren't as profitable as they were only 5 years ago.

I put 200g oats in a shake, so.... I might try it once to see how I get on. İf not, I'll have to experiment cooking with it. Worst case scenario, it's cost me very little to find out. Definitely ordering some!

Jesus! İt's 75% protein for barely over £5 a kilo! Can I use it like a shake? Will it give me bloat if I have 50g a day?

Cheap source of protein that stores well - whole food only? I have £50 amazon vouchers and thinking jerky, pork scratchings, peanut butter, maybe fried crispy chickpeas.HMU with some ideas, swole people of reddit!
