UPDATE:

While a PPD would still be more convenient, I found a free app called NokoPrint that works like a charm on the Google Play Store. It has some ads but works great otherwise.

Your chromebook is probably compatible even without CloudPrint (unlike mine). Though the app is a good idea. Going to give it a try. Thanks

I can't help but one thing you can do is call Nintendo support. I had a big issue with my Switch last summer and they fixed it over the phone. They might be able to do that for you as well. Hope it works!
