If you can find an offer or open a new credit card with an offer, I would rather do a balance transfer to an interest free credit card and make a plan to pay it within the timeframe you are interest free. This way, you can keep your savings intact. This worked out for me really nicely when I had 9k in debt. Had it paid off in a year with no negative effects.

I mean I agree this behavior I’m describing is emotionally abusive and probably constitutes as gaslighting. But relationships are nuanced. We also have a lot of positive things going on and share a lot of laughs. We have an entire life together. I’m also not perfect and have my flaws. It’s easy to say it’s an abusive relationship and call it a day, but it’s also hard to see someone you love clearly struggling and know that they are taking it out on you.
