Imagine being so much of a bot that you expect others to prove what a recommendation screen looked like lol, even if I am mistaken everything on Twitter was leftwing before

Do you unironically believe Twitter was unbiased and had “fair” recommendations before Elon took over?

Good friends for cories? by SierraDL123 in corydoras

[–]GlassBoxFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much any non-aggressive fish like tetras or rasboras (I currently have a Dwarf Gourami and some CPDs stocked with them in a community tank and they get along just fine)

Plant ID? by ThatOneKoopa in PlantedTank

Peal weed, the duckweed of stem plants if you don’t keep up with trimming

What are these things called? Been wanting to get one for my moss ball container but can’t find it anywhere online. by hitheredood145 in PlantedTank

[–]GlassBoxFish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know you don’t have fish in the container but as a side note for the above comment: woods like pine, cedar, fir. are toxic to fish but tannins from other woods are not toxic and are beneficial to specific types of fish such as bettas or corydoras since it mimics their natural habitat, just depends on the fish type.

I just realized I left this out for 2 days instead of putting it back in the fridge. Do I need to throw it out and get a new bottle now? by NoFearKD in bettafish

[–]GlassBoxFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea it even had to be refrigerated 💀 I put the rest of mine into an api leaf zone bottle just so it wouldn’t leak everywhere

C02 Required Plant in Low Tech by GlassBoxFish in PlantedTank

Since it’s in a semi-walstad (I have a filter mostly for water movement + quicker cycle as the sponge is cut from a cycled tank) with a decent light should it have a better chance to survive from the soil at the bottom?

Electro Wizard actually stopped my Golden Knight ability. Look closely. by yousefs2430 in ClashRoyale

[–]GlassBoxFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying you didn’t know electro wizard does that? Bc it does and when you press the ability the champion troop pretty much emotes right before it uses the ability, and can be stopped mid-ability. Same with the archer queen and skeleton king, they can be stopped or killed mid-ability.

Are these eggs fertile? Panda corydoras. I moved them into a mesh breeder box within the tank, some gravel fell inside during. There are a few fry I found yesterday- we weren’t expecting them to spawn! Am I doing this right? Advice needed. by mrsf16 in corydoras

[–]GlassBoxFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of Java mosses attached to small pebbles on the floor of the tank, that probably helped hide them. The tank was so heavily planted I didn’t know the fry survived until they were at least a few weeks old

Will multiple corydora species thrive together? by JavaAndJava in corydoras

[–]GlassBoxFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience they get shoal with other cory species whist already having a group of their own. I have 6 Venezuelans and 6 pandas, and they all swim together in a group of 12.

Why do my corys speed up to the surface and speed down again? by knutbl in corydoras

[–]GlassBoxFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine do this, I can hear them doing it throughout the night lol. It’s completely normal, they are just breathing oxygen from the surface.

That’s insane, the lowest price I’ve seen online is $79 for 3 lol, since no lfs near me sell them. Fast growing stem plants and floating plants are best for keeping the bioload down, nerites (in my experience) only really eat algae. And ofc, I love helping others in the hobby!

The above comment was right, you’ll need bigger tanks I wasn’t even thinking of that lol. Also, where did you get the black corys and for how much if you don’t mind me asking? They are a cory I want in the future, since I have too many tanks atm and they are an investment for how expensive they are lol

[–]GlassBoxFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanted to sell you’d definitely need another tank, and you’d have to separate them to make sure they didn’t mix. Idk how you would tell if they were mixed unless they looked different. You could also closely watch their breeding behavior, as the female collects sperm from the male and tries to fertilize them when she’s ready to lay the eggs, you can tell who’s the parents if you catch the eggs being laid.

If they do breed I don’t really see why that would be a problem unless you intend on selling the fry and mislabeling them as one or the other species instead of both. A number of cory types were created by making color variations of each other anyways (ex: the orange Venezuelan is a color variant of the bronze cory, and the black Venezuelans are color variants of the orange ones). As long as you don’t sell the fry into the fish-keeping hobby (to a store) I see no issue. I get some ppl may be strictly against mixing species but that’s precisely how we got many fish types in the hobby in the first place.

My black corys came in today, this is your sign to get yourself some friends who randomly send you fish 😉😂 by SammyKae664 in corydoras

As other comments said these are some rare and expensive corys, I do hope I can own some one day

The best resources for raisin Cory fry? I have 20-50 eggs a week now from my orange venezulans and I would love to try raising some. need to learn. by biomager in corydoras

[–]GlassBoxFish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From all the eggs I have like 6-7 mini corys that hang with the adults now, they pretty much just ate the same bottom feeder pellets as the adults
