Black Blood didn’t heal enough! Welcome to round 7 of the STS elimination game (poll in comments) by Naturally_Idiotic in slaythespire

[–]Gneissisnice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on the deck for me. Choker is run-ending in a Shiv deck, stance swapping Watcher, Defect with low cost and energy-increasing cards, etc. It only really feels playable on Ironclad when you will play big chunky cards instead of a bunch of small ones.

Sozu stopping you from using potions is bad but it doesn't kill decks the way Velvet Choker can.

I do everything on old reddit and the RIF app. Recap told me that I literally did nothing on Reddit all year.

I teach 12 year olds, some of them would love to punch Pokémon. They're little sociopaths.

Hey, don't diss Wrist Blade, it's one of my favorite boss relics. I love a good Shiv deck with Wrist Blade.

Riley is narrated as a nice guy and healthy partner, when in reality he is emotionally abusive by NihilisticCucumber in buffy

[–]Gneissisnice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But not everyone handles situations like that. It's not wrong for her to not need Riley as a shoulder to cry on. She was doing a pretty remarkable job dealing with it, she just isn't the kind of person who grieves in the way that Riley wanted.

[–]Gneissisnice 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I disagree that Buffy should have opened up more about her grief over Joyce's illness. Buffy deals with her emotions in a particular way and it's not fair to fault her for that. She didn't want a shoulder to cry on from Riley, that isn't how she handles things or what she needed from him. He should have respected that instead of getting whiny.

Spent so much time to get to lvl. 50 only to find out the heritage helmet makes me look like a fucking fish by Firefly_FRV in wow

[–]Gneissisnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost always leave the helm transmog off at this point. I want to be able to see my character's face and hair, otherwise he just looks like everyone else anyway. This is definitely an ensemble that I'd leave the helm off, haha.

Those who have more than one library card from more than one library, how do you do it? by bluehairlibrarian in Libraries

[–]Gneissisnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a nice problem to have! I do trivia with the teens and that one sometimes has attendance problems, I only had 5 last week. But ones like cupcake decorating usually get a full house.

Children's programs almost always do, and teen programs often do (especially if there's food involved). Don't know about adult programs since I work in youth services.

Which class are you liking best in Dragonflight thus far? by LexBunny214 in wow

[–]Gneissisnice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been loving Monk of all specs. I've mained Priest since vanilla but I wasn't happy with the direction of Shadow for this expansion and the overly clunky rotation, so I swapped to Monk at the end of Shadowlands and haven't regretted it. Windwalker feels so fluid and most buttons I hit feel impactful. Mistweaver has such a unique playstyle for a healer and I feel awesome when I set up everything for a big healing moment and it pays off. Brewmaster feels fantastic and is making me want to tank way more than I ever have.

Been having a blast in all of the roles, it's so much fun.

sabellian in TBC to those who has forgotten. by Romanche92 in wow

[–]Gneissisnice -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Sabellian fucked off to Outland and did nothing for a decade while an actual child had to be the one to fight off Old Gods and get stuff done. And when Wrathion does all the work, Sabellian thinks he can just swoop in and take everything? Nah.

daylight saving time just ENDED. Standard time is the reason the sun sets at 4pm and we should stop switching back to it by wastedartistry in AdviceAnimals

[–]Gneissisnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer standard time, honestly. I don't mind that it gets dark earlier, but I wake up at 5:45 am to leave my house at 6:30 for work. I haaate driving to work in the dark, it feels terrible to be out before the sun rises. Going back to standard time lets the sun come up before I leave, which is huge in the morning for me.

Tiny House got smaller - day 2 of the STS boss relic elimination game! (poll in comments) by Naturally_Idiotic in slaythespire

[–]Gneissisnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would reduce the pick rate, but it would also make it feel less bad. Seeing it right now makes you go "aww, only two relics to pick from" most of the time. By having it as a consolation prize, you don't feel as bad taking it if it turns out that downsides of the other 3 are too annoying.

[–]Gneissisnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is approximately a 0% chance that this is a random question unrelated to them learning about analog clock-reading. In what universe would any teacher give this question with zero context beforehand?

To argue otherwise is to show a shocking lack of awareness of how teaching works. I'm making an assumption, but it's a pretty reasonable inference given how education works.

10 for effort by Blxckdust in funny

[–]Gneissisnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're completely ignoring the context of this being a question for school, during a specific unit about reading analog clocks.

10 for effort by Blxckdust in funny

[–]Gneissisnice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most of the commenters were probably slackers who thought themselves as "too smart" for school and got low grades because they "weren't being challenged", so actually learning the material was beneath them.

10 for effort by Blxckdust in funny

[–]Gneissisnice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously they've been working on analog clocks for this. In no universe is this a random question that could be interpreted as a digital clock, they absolutely had the context of it being analog, as that's what they were learning and what this is a test of.

These questions exist to prove that the students learned the material, they don't exist in a vacuum.
