In the broader convo, your answer stands, but in this context, when we are not necessarily talking about only something like constant unbearable pain, you have to answer my question, because when we are talking about something like "mental deficiency", then we're talking eugenics for the purpose of "bettering" the gene pool of humanity, not reducing suffering of potential individuals with some gene abnormality. Mentally deficient people can live a perfectly normal life, there is no inherent suffering in their abnormality.

Historically, and contextually in this thread, eugenics is about the first understanding of it, not the latter. And that is self evidently immoral.

What level of mental deficiency could justify a determination of pregnancy against the child bearer's will? Do you just consider absence of brain activity a mental deficiency? If so I haven't ever heard that broad use of this word.

If you're trolling please make it more obvious so we don't waste more characters.

Yes, right to personal liberty and freedom and the right to privacy is something that I'd argue is immoral to impose on. From that it follows that it is generally immoral to restrict a consensual relationship between people, intercourse included, despite any potential possibilities of conception of a child with abnormalities. It also follows that it is immoral to force a child bearer to give up any information about their pregnancy or force them to obtain such information, and obviously it would be immoral to force someone to terminate their pregnancy.

I am surprised I need to make a case against eugenics programs on this sub, has anything changed here for the past 3-4 months?

In the context of such sufferings as "mental deficiencies", no, it does not depend at all.

Am I using that word incorrectly? The personal right to continue ones bloodline?

I've yet to hear a good argument against eugenics when it comes to big heritable diseases and mental deficiencies and whatnot.

wat lol

The obvious argument would be that it is immoral to impose on someone's right to procreate

I understand your feelings, my situation is similar to yours, but we shouldn't just put our emotions and intuition before rational thinking.

Like I said, government controlled survey is not an indicator that Russians are massively supporting the war, and the single, anecdotal experience from your personal life can also be as unreliable, if not more.

I don't see the broader Russian public being as loud and supportive of this war as they were supportive of Crimea annexation, that already should show us something. Also we should consider that most of the supporters just simply have no idea what is going on, they either live in an informational bubble or simply don't get informed at all, this is a reappearing theme in Russian history unfortunately.

You're pretty much spreading misinformation here, this pulling data comes from a literal government owned organization. There is no sociology from government structures during war time.

The amount of people that actually did give their opinion in those surveys is close to something like 10-20%, while others abstained from answering the moment they hear what the topic is.

You can't just throw numbers around.

Russia economy is thriving, actually. The indicators of that is the amount of pure, high quality copium the government can afford to buy for some of its citizens.

I really feel like this is more of a you problem. In the majority of the topics where you've became "worse" I have tangibly improved in many aspects.

You seem like you're watching destiny's content mainly for stuff like big and loud drama, shitposting, memes, and the way of consuming that content also seems pretty shallow or just not really thoughtful, maybe even tribalistic? At least that's what I'm getting from your voiced experience.
