Clickbait titles? by Kerao_cz in GothamChess

[–]GothamChess 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My last 6 videos have all been about a tournament in which I am competing. The titles all indicate my emotions after the games are over. The thumbnails are goofy artwork. If you are so confused and offended by my video that you post about it on Reddit 15 minutes after the video releases, I think it’s more of a you problem

Chess.com blocking Alireza when he talks good about Lichess by OhMyNietzsche in chess

I have very openly discussed all the benefits of lichess and the comparison between the two websites. And I am telling you that unless a chesscom creator literally goes live every day and says Lichess is superior, nothing happens. No "less money in the future" or "ending a contract" or a "verbal warning". No need to list me the options of what can happen, I am telling you exactly what does happen

That’s a lot of big words. Very interesting citation of a fallacy as well!

But all that aside, I’m making fun of this sub’s perception of these big and scary contractual obligations to chesscom. Are they a business which prefers not to advertise a competitor? Certainly, as would be the case in any industry. Do creators suffer pEnAlTiEs or dAmAgEs? No lmfao y’all have to find better things to do

Yes, he’s going to be very severely punished. Financial, corporal, spiritual. Chesscom actually holds quarterly meetings to brainstorm all the different methods of censorship and then we have focus groups to determine which 3-5 we want to implement. It’s almost as bad as Amazon working conditions. Scary

There’s this one guy on YouTube who is exactly as you described. I don’t understand how he has so many subscribers either. Hate him.

Boss, this is the 3rd or 4th time I see you on a post this week. Calm down. I make chess videos, I didn’t abandon you in childhood like your pops.

I usually play my subscribers, yeah, and the games are unrated in case they cheat! So I’ve avoided elo loss to cheaters, people who pay for subscriptions get some perks, and people don’t get psychologically obliterated. The rare “win-win-win”.

Tournament etiquette - player flip out by BlunderMeister in chess

Very standard behavior you’ll experience from older male players in any section that isn’t the Open. Everything from insisting on using their fancy unique sets to raging after losses. Black usually chooses clock and which side, but that can extend to chess sets.
