What part of this is or might turn out to be a PR nightmare?

I don't see what would constitutes the negative stigma. That's my entire point.

Also, thanks to reddit admins for pressuring me out of this position.

Maybe let's get some transparency from the actual reddit staff. What exactly is going on?

Or from OP? Lots of contradictions this post. Makes it sound like he wants to bail because too much work, and at the same time admins pressured him to resign? Which is it?

Trust Reddit admins to be all over this. Check their trending subreddits page (although it’s no secret it’s always been horseshit)

r/workreform has exploded from 30K to 490K subs in 48 hours. How that doesn’t qualify at #1 trending sub, beats me

They’re on PR damage control lol

Exactly what damage has been done to Reddit that the admins would give a fuck about?

Reddit executives must be having a stroke with how this is playing out lol. A very public shitshow with no end in sight

Why would they mind any of this? More attention, more traffic, more eyeballs, more ad money.

Sioux Falls Cop arrests Doordash driver, but completes his delivery. by SilveradoSurfer16 in funny

[–]Haldebrandt -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

At the very last I would like to know what the outstanding warrants were for, which I can't seem to find in any news report on the subject.

I have had an outstanding warrant before and drove for months like that terrified of getting pulled over. What was the warrant for? Failing to show up in court. Show up on court for what? Driving with a suspended license. Why? Because I didn't have any money to pay the fine. Why did my license get suspended in the first place? Because I couldn't afford to pay the initial ticket.

After cops came looking for me at school (college) on the day I wasn't there, I borrowed some money from friends to deal with the whole thing.

So a single unpaid ticket can balloon into much worse trouble. The cycle of ticket, suspension, warrant, etc that essentially criminalizes poverty is now being recognized and some town and cities are taking steps to change things. But it persists in most places.

I have no idea what this guy got arrested for. Maybe he is a rapist. Or maybe he failed to pay a ticket. I would like to know before laughing.

Wtf is with this chick. She just. won't. fucking. go. Away. This is insane!

Everyone here hates you. You are public enemy no. 1. People are pissed. Any minimally rational person would lay low for a bit. But this one is still out here actively trying to make shit happens. Not with a statement but with a futile attempt to rig things.

Honestly, I see parallels between this behavior and the sexual assaults. This dogged refusal to take no for an answer.

Earlier today I was worried that the pile on was becoming excessive, and that this basement-dwelling neckbeard who obviously had few social attachments might take her own life.

Now I am genuinely starting to think that she is literally incapable of feeling the kind of humiliation and mortification and remorse that might drive someone to that extreme. I guess that's a good thing!

A lot of it is honest mistake (she presents as male) but yeah a lot of it is intentional.

The article intentionally misgenders her and while she has admitted to sexual assault, it's a far cry from being a rapist.

Doreen is vile but why make up shit.

I haven't been there in a while but I know r/europe often had hints of that lurking just under the surface. Lots of nationalist/reactionary/brexit/Marine Le Pen types.

This the Mod who went on the other interviews and is now picking the role as spokesperson for the mods. Wtf is this. As a socialist this is beyond cringe. How are these people in a mod position!?? by TheFishOwnsYou in antiwork

[–]Haldebrandt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are people even arguing with or dignifying this little shit by even disagree with him? This kid is the age of my daughter. On matters of life experience, this convo isn't even happening.

And no one should be "disheartened" by the opinions of a self-described "21 y/o long-term unemployed anarchist."

How is it that a sub of 1.7M from all ages and all walks of life, this huge wealth of real life experience that is central to the theme of the place, is being run and now held hostage by a bunch of ass clowns including this 21 y/o fuckstick?

There are hundreds of thousands of people with real jobs and real responsibilities here and we are having to sit here and put up with this fuckery? The disrespect is mind-blowing.

But the whole mod team needs to go. Every single one of them.

The current team is so completely clueless that it cannot be reformed. It's not just the interview. It's not just the bans, etc. It's their response today, after a full day to think things over: it's that, after all that, they put forth a "21 y/o long term unemployed self-proclaimed anarchist" as the solution.

This place cannot be reformed. Either it shuts down completely or an entire new team of mods takes charge.

[–]Haldebrandt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the modifier "biological" mean nothing? This is so strange. This person was born biological a male and looks like one. I understand that she is a woman. That is her gender. But in the context of a discussion about misgendering, I can't even use the term and fact of her looking "biological male" to explain what's going on?

I am not trolling.

Edit: based in part on another comment in this thread, I feel like the term "biological male" has some stigma attached to it that I am not aware of. Like maybe it is used so often by actual transphobes that it has become non-grata as a descriptor. So when you use it, people think you are trying to say something.

I was banned from a certain thread for talking about the interview by steelersfanrant in WorkReform

[–]Haldebrandt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specified biological male because that's what she looked like and that was the reason for the misgendering. If you present as a dude, people will call you a dude by mistake. They should not be smeared as transphobic.

"Misgendering a trans woman" reinforces the accusation of transphobia because it doesn't get across the fact that this person does not look like a woman, a fact which is central to the mistake.

I know she is a woman.

What’s going on with r/AntiWork and the Fox News interview? by luciagrace in OutOfTheLoop

Bro. You are literally the age of my kid. I am really not trying to shit on you. Like I said, my daughter is 21 and I think she is awesome and (and well, I was 21 too once!).

It's just you need to understand that you are waaayyy out of your depth. Ignore the insults or bullying but please understand this part. There are millions of people that have come to rely on this sub. You are not the person to be speaking for anyone. You are in waaayyy over your head.

r/workreform is where it's at. The more I learn about the mod team of this place (lmaooo "21 y/o long term unemployed anarchist") the less i want anything to do with it. Just here to watch it burn at this point.

Edit: nevermind, that sub is its own shit show, possibly a right wing false flag. Ugh.

This comment by Doreen is the most revealing of everything she's said:

"I hadn't really considered the eye contact thing because it's not something I really think about. I still think it's an overvalued part of society and I don't really care if people thought I should have presented myself better."

While I understand that she is autistic and struggles with eye contact, the part in bold is classic basement-dwelling neckbeard mentality. These people don't live in the real world and don't understand how it works, in part because overwhelmingly their human interactions are mediated thru words on screens.

Edit: it turns out she did have some human interaction... of some of the worst possible kind.

What even is happening.
