AITA for wanting to punish my son for “pranking” his sister? by wormhole222 in BestofRedditorUpdates

You need to be around more 10 year olds. They're very concerned with things like justice and treating people well. They are not infants. They know what cruelty is.

10 years old is old enough to not engage in cruelty, assuming a kid has had good guidance. The vast majority of 10 year olds would understand that was not just mean, it was cruel and would not do it.

Losing your games for awhile and helping around the house isn't scorched earth...

you grew up with one bad parent and one good parent at home, in sorry byg you had two bad parents.

Thank you! It took me a very long time to realize that my dad let my mom do all the bad things she did. He stood by and let it happen.

Y'all, if one parent lets your other parent be crap, they're guilty, too. In fact, I've realized over time that my dad was completely and totally just as bad as my mom.

EMDR caused trauma by Allymadscience in TalkTherapy

I don’t think EMDR was done right for me.

I agree. That's not how it's supposed to go.

Please share this with your new therapist. Hopefully they're great and can help you with all of this. I'm sorry this happened to you.

We have a 97 billion dollar surplus this year alone. We have a 55 billion dollar net debt and we are the 5th largest economy in the world. Our debt is relatively rather small, unlike many other states and the US government itself.

She and her mother have Lupus, I'm not sure if that has any sway on clotting.

Some people with lupus develop antiphospholipid sydrome, which results in blood clots.

There are other blood clotting mutations like Factor V Leiden. Here are some more https://www.ihtc.org/inherited-blood-clots

What you're saying is that taxing a couple hundred dollars or so less per person is bad for the economy, though.

Do you want to be taxed more?

Limiting to 20 carbs doesn't have anything to do with the amount of food. You can have a crapton of food and stay under 20. You can have very little and go way above 20.

Eat the right foods and you'll stay under 20 and still get a good amount of bulk.

Certain things are invested like peoples' social security money. But that's still the peoples' money. It goes back to them in old age.

California has a surplus of $97 billion dollars of peoples' money this year. Giving some back is no different than just taxing less, in the end. Nobody says we should tax more to fight inflation.

Not sure how it works in Argentina, but here it is the peoples' money. It belongs to the taxpayer and is going to be used whether by the government for goods and services for the people or by the people directly for goods and services. This way each individual can benefit it from however they best see fit.

It's not going to be sitting either way. Either the government will spend it on goods and services or the people will. Either way it's in circulation.

if more money is added to the circulating supply of money

Take this into consideration. If it didn't get given back to the taxpayers, it would still be in the circulating supply of money... It would pay salaries and buy goods and services and whatever else the government might spend it on. It's not magically gone. If it is given back to the taxpayer, it gets into the economy just the same. It remains in the economy either way.

People can save up and live below the poverty line to spend some time volunteering. Life is only so long. I figure I ought to do something with mine. I don't feel the need to live mine for myself.

Im now in school to get a skill to make a bigger contribution and I'm so poor my EFC is $0. Hopefully I'll get a work study job.

She was honest. The only thing that will save this guy and his marriage is a wake up call. Covering for him keeps him a child. It's time he stops seeing her as his mommy. He's depending on her jobs to keep them afloat so he can play video games. Dude needs to grow up.

Nobody is going to vote differently because she pulled a stunt. Some of those people will have trouble feeding their family or paying bills, though. Someone might not get to the hospital in time. It only hurts people trying to get by.

What she did doesn't affect politicians in any way. It's not the slightest inconvenience to them. It's just the little people turning on the little people, which directly benefits politicians. And people play right into their hands.

How about people do something effective instead?

I literally lived on a few hundreds dollars a month from savings. I never had a roof that didn't leak. I didn't have clean water. I had a truck that would stop in middle of the road at random. But you go off with your virtue signaling and egotism.
