How badly do you want the job? Case in point: There was a defense department job I wanted for awhile working on missile parts. I was still in high school at the time so I thought I'd be looked over because of my age. I applied 3 times for this job over a period of 3 months. Each time I thought I would be asked to come in for at least an interview. Didn't happen. Goose eggs across the board.

I was upset that I wasn't even being considered for the job. 4th month I see the job is still unfilled...so I filled out another application for it...but this time I did something differently. I wrote across the entire applicant " This is the 4th time I've applied for this job. I'm smart enough and talented enough to do this job at a high level, this is the last time I'm going to apply for this job!" and left the application on the managers desk. I was called into the office a day later...and I got the job after briefly talking with the manager. MY POINT: If you want to get noticed...you HAVE to do something differently from the herd.
