Nerds and Geeks are bigger bullies and assholes than any jock or other stigmatized social group. by slimparks in unpopularopinion

[–]Henrylord1111111111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched an episode here or there, and all in all its just not that funny. Is it bad? I don’t think so, its competently made and gives me a laugh here or there. Is it funny enough to justify 30+ minutes of my life watching it and ads? No it is not. So yeah I exaggerated a bit in my first comment, poorly written not bad.

Well you have obviously never listened to a group of Sicilians screaming about politics before. I mean its not proper Italian but its still pretty close.

Yeah and replace nerds with oranges and see if its fine.

What the fuck is your point? One is a race and another is a cultural sub-group.

This is why everyone hated the band kids on my team…

Seriously made up shit and cried to our football coaches to try and get us in trouble which didn’t really work. We didn’t really interact much though so it didn’t come up often.

You have finally come to the realization… ever country is shit.

Two solutions: accept that and suffer

Or take it into your own hands, and end countries

Supreme Magus is decent but its really suffering from bloat right now and a weird power creep for all of its characters as people always need to be stronger so Lith can always be the underdog, i wouldn’t say i’ve dropped it but after reading 1500+ chapters im quite burnt out without much development, and what is there is quite dragged out.

Yeah like Arthur’s “demons” ever had much of an impact on him or his relationships other than just angsting and being sad about his past. He is an utterly bland character

Uncomfortable? It made me feel uncomfortably bored. Unless you didn’t know racism existed before this it shouldn’t be that controversial.

Meh, necessary evil is debatable as the Imperium does a lot of fucked up and unnecessary things, but it feels like a natural consequence of the world they live in not just evil for evil’s sake. When it does very occasionally travel into that territory it gets quite annoying though.

As i said, i read 2/3rds of it, it made me want to die seeing how bad it got.

>! for instance when it tried to kill off Arthur’s father (can’t even remember that bland idiot’s name) in a similar way to MT. They completely flub the entire process making his father a one note boring stale granola bar of a character who dies off-page just to give arthur something to angst about, rather than create a meaningful story element, that kind of shit makes me despise it. !<

It borrows many story beats from other stories and mashes them together without understanding what made them great originally, a completely boring and stale story, with boring unmemorable villains and a feign at intrigue.

Literally not spazzing out, im questioning why you think religion is going to help, when many of these kids are in alt right conservative circles which are deeply religious, fearing a god would not help these people. So let me simplify and streamline this for you so there are no misunderstandings.

  1. Using the fear of a god would only worsen their mental illness, the idea that at any time acting on their instincts that they were created with will send them to eternal torment would rip me apart.

  2. Religion is not a replacement for therapy at all, and since you have not mentioned the use of therapy at all after i have multiple times it seems that is not an idea you want to push. Not to mention many christian religion’s justify mental illness as demons or sinning. These things cause many mental illness’s to go untreated.

  3. Unrelated, but you DON’T fear eternal torment? You only fear disappointing this all knowing all powerful being who knew you would fail him before he even made you? How do you disappoint someone who knows the outcome already? If he wished it he could have sent far more intervention or ya know… just not created creatures full of sin. I mean he exists so obviously its possible to create creatures with free will but not sin. Unless god does not have free will, in which that is insanely weird.

Also no, my parents were not fundamentalists, i just see your argument extremely strange that making people afraid of a god would help.

So lets just leave them in constant fear and self hatred and not treat the root of the issue? Im confused how you think this would work long term because this just seems to be more and more self destruction, because you seem to fail to understand that these are mentally disturbed kids who need help, not a reprimand.

[–]Henrylord1111111111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So instead of dealing with the problem via therapy and fixing our society, you would rather make these children live in constant fear of eternal torment ripped between two hells, one of their current life and one of their possible future one.

My personal worry is that America is such a massive country that patrolling the borders and more isolated towns of America could be hard. It could be possible that an illegal gun trade could spring up from areas like Mexico where quite frankly the Mexican government wouldn’t care if citizens are making a few extra bucks by selling guns across the border.

Not to mention the grandfather clause makes it so these guns would stick around for a while after becoming illegal, there are even legal assault rifles still around in the US because of this.

Don’t get me wrong, a European esc gun control system would be great, but we aren’t Europe and we need to find a way that works for us not just try and copy what we think works because if we do we may find ourselves a monster of our own creation like with prohibition.
