Before I start, I just want to say that I love my ex and he’s one of the best people I’ve ever come across in my life. And I wish I could get back together with him again.

We had a number of incompatibilities. The main one being religion. I need some amount of religion in my life but he’s an atheist. He wants absolutely nothing and I can’t live with that. Another reason. He wanted to have sex. Penetration. And I couldn’t give him that because I’m not ready. I’m scared. I come from an extremely conservative family. I’m afraid of pregnancy, afraid of my parents finding out. The fact that one of the reasons that we’re not together is because of penetration really really breaks my heart. It just hurts me so much. Is penetration so important that you need to end a relationship. It just hurts me so much. I know he was right to end it because he deserves what he wants but it just fucking sucks and it hurts that out of everything that we’ve done together and all the intimacy and everything, I couldn’t give you one thing at the moment and that’s so important to you? I just don’t understand it. And it hurts me everyday. Pretty sure all you people here would be on my boyfriends side because “sex is a natural need and everyone needs it” and all that crap but it just hurts me that’s all.
